FIIO X3 - Comparisons
I started looking through the FIIO X3 Gen 2 thread but it's rather long :) I have an original FIIO X3 and see the new X3ii for $199 on Amazon.com. Is it worth the upgrade? I am not opposed to upgrading if it is superior. Also - how does it compare to the X5? I am using ATH-M50's so I...- metalhed

Powered Speaker Recommendation
I am getting back into vinyl. I just purchased a U-turn Orbit turntable and a Schitt Mani phono pre-amp and now I am thinking a decent pair of powered speakers would round out this setup nicely. Any suggestions for decent quality powered speakers? I am not opposed to spending the money on...- metalhed

Turntables and Ripping Vinyl
Ordered the Audio Technica - it came with a broken tone arm lock and I got no sound out of the turntable when plugged into my receiver - it's going back and U-turn is up next :)- metalhed

Lets Talk Metal
With regards to Ace, I'm not saying I don't like simple effective riffs - actually I very much like his solo on Black Diamond - one of my favorites - I just have never looked at him as a "guitar god" if you will (I feel the same way about Tipton/Downing as well). They are effective for the music... -
Lets Talk Metal
KISS has been re-releasing all their albums on 180g vinyl since March (?) - I have read the remastering on the vinyl is very good so I picked up Hotter than Hell and Destroyer yesterday (just need a turntable to play them on). I have always enjoyed listening to KISS - but as musicians they... -
Turntables and Ripping Vinyl
With the recent re-release of Iron Maiden's first 8 albums and all 19 singles on vinyl, I have got the itch to get back to buying records :) I am in the market for a turntable with good sound quality (audiophile quality preferred but at $300 max not likely) but I also want to be able to rip...- metalhed

The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
I have been waiting to finally see some higher quality players at these kind of prices. Fiio X3 is $199 (free shipping USA at Amazon) iBasso DX50 is $260 ($239 with $21 shipping) For those that have tried both the DX50 and the X3, which do you think is the better player for the money...- metalhed

Suggest a Cowon Player - J3 or X7 or X9
I got the C2 for XMas. I loved the sound but absolutely hated the interface on that small screen. I see Amazon has some X7's in stock for approx $250 and the 32Gb J3 in stock for $300. I can't decide which to get. I am looking for a large capacity player for music - not necessarily...- metalhed

Recommend an amp that can be charged while in use
In the last week, I have gotten new headphones (Audio Technica ATHM50's) and I ordered a Fiio E11 portable amp witha LOD for my itouch 1st gen. The amp is great but it does not allow charging while in use and I have had the batteries run out on me during the work day. I spend most of my day at...- metalhed

Looking for Better Sound Quality
I ended up ordering the ATH-M50's for $112 - seemed like a good price for them - the 840's were still $150+ (checked eBay also). I will probably try the Apple lossless first and see how it sounds... I am still interested in ordering a Cowon player just to try one - the iAudio 9 is...- metalhed

Looking for Better Sound Quality
I juts changed jobs recently and will be spending more time with music on while I work (office setting). My first DAP was an iRiver H120 (loved it until it died) and since then I have been mainly an Apple guy (once I updated all my digital music in iTunes, it seemed to make sense to stay with...- metalhed
