    Critique You Current Headphones

Grado 225's: Pro's -In your face sound. Seriously. I went back to my V6 after 2 weeks of listening and its a night-day difference. -Clarity with Rock/Alternative/Soft rock music. I guess people call this midrange; but jeez, listen to a song from the aforementioned genres and you can TELL...

AT-A900 vs GRADO SR225 an then.... SONY CD3000

ntsour: How would the midrange of a A900 compare to a V6? I'm interested in this since I've been considering a A700 to replace my 225's. The sound is nice, but I'm always missing the bass (especially since I came from the V6's). I wonder if there's a compromise between the clarity of the...

    ATH-A700 Review

Hey Graz: I was wondering if you could answer this question of mine. You said that the bass of the A700 is definitely one of its strong suits...how does the bass of the A700 compare with: V6? Or SR225 w/ Flats? I am strongly considering these as a "V6++" if you will...as the comfort of...

open or closed headphones for gaming?

sigh...too bad I wasn't an active member until now. I stayed there for a week last winter and did the usual sight-seeing junk. While I did visit Akihibara, I was there for digi cams (and ended up not buying one -_-). Man, oh man, is hindsight a bitch =)

open or closed headphones for gaming?

Haha that gave me a good chuckle. Any US guys probably have seen that Raisin Bran Crunch commercial which is something like that to a degree...

open or closed headphones for gaming?

Lol, I've actually lanned with my V6's...I leave them half on. Trust me, less of it is in the gaming. Most of it is the hilarity in hearing your friends cussing/yelling at each other. Open/closed is personal preference as I was just fine leaving my V6's "half on", if you will.

What's a good headphone for use with glasses but without amp.

    225's comfort issue >> shures or ety's?

Yep. Fortunately, my brother has the E3C's, so I'm borrowing them rite now. Going from closed to open, to closed (essentially), I truly can appreciate how good the Grado's sound. But yeah, the E3c's are so different. I guess I'm fortunate my brother rarely uses them, so I can probably test the...

    225's comfort issue >> shures or ety's?

Its not the clampiness, b/c I stretched the headband out quite a bit. I dunno, maybe its the Cg (center of gravity) or something that is making me umcomfortable, but the way it feels is not clampy anymore.

    225's comfort issue >> shures or ety's?

While my previous threads relate to sound/bass, that has all been taken care of with the flats. However, a much more important issue has risen: comfort. The flats are incredibly umcomfortable, especially with my glasses. If I take them off, it is alleviated slightly. Bowls w/o glasses isn't...

    discomfort with grados

Heh, my friend's SR60's are so comfortable (compared to me new "used" 225's) cuz he's had it for more than a year than me already! Those things, even if laid down, down have the same clamp as mine do. His, just "hang" if you will, but that is after he did some significant bending + year...

To me its seems that Sennheisers are much more popular than Grado. Why?

Two of my friends have the Senn HD650--that must be one of the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever put on. I'm not even worried about sound--they are simply too big, too heavy. I'm sure they sound nice, but I sure wouldn't like wearing that for long lengths of time. In comparison, even...

You guys were right on the SR225's, I miss the bass

Yeah I guess the title can change now. It should be: PADS make a HUGE freakin' difference =) Heck, if the comfies from the SR60 have more bass, i can't imagine wut Todd's can do then. But $30...ehhh
