DEVA Pro with Bluemini R2R--Combining the Best of the HIFIMAN Latest Developments

Does anyone know if there's an appropriate cable I could use (preferably a short one) to connect the Qudelix 5k 2.5mm balanced output to the 3.5mm TRRS on the Deva pro? To my ears the Qudelix sounds better and has lots of tweaking options and more codecs.

Fiio FH3 stock eartips - Has anyone found a supply (or the brand if it's not Fiio)?

I heard back from Fiio. They will send additional eartips for P&P costs alone. They sent a link to an Aliexpress page that enables you to pay and use the ticket number from your enquiry to make the connection between the request and the payment. The lookalike eartips i ordered from a few amazon...

Fiio FH3 stock eartips - Has anyone found a supply (or the brand if it's not Fiio)?

Hi Google has revealed very little on this subject. I have the Fiio FH3 and like the large stock tips in either the "balanced" or "bass" option. These are the full dark grey or the grey and red silicone tips. I also use the grey and red bass ones on the Sennheiser True Wireless 3 and find...

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

A bit more testing reveals it manages aptx HD across the whole house through several walls with no drop outs or issues. The Qudelix reports the constant 500+ kbps as you'd expect for HD. It's possible that other artefacts in the signal are being introduced while in HD but the throttling of the...

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

For the purpose of contributing some findings to this thread here's what I have found with this device: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354446372819 which is a YET-T9 according to the sound devices on my PC - it's been discussed earlier in the thread. 1. It works, seems to sound fine. 2. Supports...

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

The inconsistency of information on the manufacturer's websites is quite poor. Qualcomm list the sennheiser btd600 dongle as aptx and aptx adaptive but sennheiser have HD as well on their information.

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

So, one strategy might be to force Aptx HD for the set of headphones I have by getting a dongle (Creative BT-W3 for example) that only supports up to Aptx HD. For the use case I have, when all headphones appear to have HD that would end up the codec being used. While Sennheiser don't mention...

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

It's interesting that when I force Aptx HD on the Sennheiser M4W from the developer settings of Android the Sennheiser App actual says "no codec" but the phone believes it's using Aptx HD. In fact, if i select Aptx, it bumps it up to HD automatically (same for the Deva Pro R2R dongle)...

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

Thanks for the rapid reply. It'd be interesting to see what Nura say before I decide which one to go for.

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

This is an interesting thread. I'd like to upgrade the Bluetooth audio output on my Microsoft Surface Pro 6 beyond Aptx. The use case is as follows: Headphones/recievers: 1 - Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless (SBC, AAC, Aptx, Aptx HD, Aptx Adaptive) 2 - Hifiman Deva Pro with R2R Bluemini (SBC...

    Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless

I find that the ANC is good on the M4W because it doesn't feel like it's adversely affecting sound quality or adding hiss. However, at times (this is true of other ANC headphones too) I'd like to be able to crank up the ANC to an extreme level, perhaps at a detriment to sound quality, to block...

    Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless

I've now spent many hours listening to and wearing the M4W, this has included 8 hours on car ferry crossings that needed the ANC. 1. ANC is good enough (pretty good) and doesn't feel like there's some sound doctoring going on that makes the music/TV sound artificial - this is good, it still...

    Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless

Sorry, the gap is only at the point of switching codec but not after. So, not a problem but an indication that something did happen at the point I changed it in developer settings.

    Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless

The ladies voice that says stuff like "connected" or "no connection" generally sounds the same as on my old M2W. However, when she says "more than 80% battery" she's developed a slight cockney twang to her accent. This seems a bit odd and quite specific coming from a German manufacturer. It...
