Well I was thinking, a $30 DAC wouldnt do the lcd 2 justice. I like how the K701 sounds but i cant help but feel that i want more! I just want better sound. Would the bifrost improve the sq to a noticable degree? Or should i just leave the D3 and get the lcd 2

Did you try using FLAC files? I had the same problem with my K701 and the problem was that i was using 128kbps mp3 files. I only heard a disappointing barely noticable improvement over my logitech G35. But when I used flac, its a whole nother beast! Good luck

That is great information Questhate. I would most likely go for the LCD 2 then the HD 800 eventually. Can a Schiit Bifrost/Lyr combo run the HD800s well or will it be sub par? I am graduating in 6 months and I have a job lined up. I can already see where my food money is going to go...
