I know it is not one of the brands you are asking about but since the price range is ~$400 and you might be getting an e11, I have to ask... Have you thought about the HE-400?  It has an amazing soundstage AND good bass.  Something very few cans can accomplish, especially at that price range.

According to most of what I have seen via charts, and read via impressions, the ZO2.1 gives about +16db of bass boost.  If you can find it, the newer version, ZO2.3 measures out at +14db, which would make it equal to the fiio e17.  I wouldn't reccomend purchasing another amp expecting to get a...

I have the ATH-Pro700MK2s and when I crank up the bass boost on my e17 or on my X-Fi it can rattle my teeth.  You can feel it shaking the side of your face.  It feels like a bunch of tiny hands punching you in the jaw...

They killed analog line out on the iPhone5.  You can use the headphone jack, but the only way to bypass the amp is if you have one of the more expensive DAC's that are fully licensed by Apple (do a search on "CLAS" for an example of this).  Some of which also double as an amp, currently...

Personally I much prefer a circular coil about 6 inches in diameter.  That way when you need the extra length you can have it without dealing with a kinked cable.  It will easily fit in all but the smallest of pockets on the go, and if you bind it on two sides it will always stay perfectly...
