Weight of HP2's causes strange sensation

Wow, no sympathy on this thread! sTaTIx: where do you get off with an answer like that? Lightweight headphones are not a problem; it was just that the HP2 was too much. I didnt know until I tried it. You trying to act clever at my expense *******? Dusty: you probably dont know anything...

Weight of HP2's causes strange sensation

It was only temporary, but I decided to listen to music with the HP2's while banging on the speed bag (that thing boxers train with) and I was really getting into it and had a good workout. The next morning I woke up and my sense of balance was experiencing technical difficulties.. I'd get...

    Please explain HP-1

One of my fantasies (#805, to be specific) is to pay KimberKable to make me up a headphone cable out of their KCAG stock. I *know* they would do it if I waved enough money in front of their face. As far as the HP2's go, changing the cable is as easy as pie. The 325's are a bit harder. The RS1 is...

    RS-1 or W2002?

You dont need me to tell you they are both great headphones. One thing I notice about the RS1 compared to the W2002 is that the RS1 sound is not affected by pressing the enclosures tighter to the ears (<cough> flat pads </cough>), whereas the W2002 sound is changed very much by doing so. I...

If you were to list the pluses and minuses of headphone listening

Just one added thought: I had a pretty good floor system and yes, in terms of soundstage you could sometimes feel the acoustic of the recording space beyond the placement of the speakers. Most of the time the speakers themselves are acoustically invisible in fact. Its enjoyable to listen to a...

    a quick question about ATH-W2002s

The $1,200+ prices I've seen for a new W2002 are silly. I wouldnt pay that much for them just because they are rare. No way. If you really want some then I would suggest searching on the Selling forum for people who have tried to sell a 2002 in the past and see if they still have them. Dont...

    Grado HP-1000 Fit Issue

Yeah they will bend, so the tightness issue is easily resolved. As far as driver placement goes, hmmm... if your noggin doesnt allow optimum location then I'm guessing the hat idea is about all you can do. I have a special Grado-approved audiophile cap that I'd be happy to sell you. The cap is...

    Grado flat pad differences?

Density is crucial. The first goal should be to come as close to the Grado material as possible. After that, then you have the luxury of trying different foams. I'm thinking that Grado already did the experimentation though, and that its not by accident that they use the same foam for the bowl...

    Grado flat pad differences?

Heres a rough version: IMO one of the main issues is going to be foam density. They use the same foam on the flat pads as the bowl pads by the way. If you have more specific questions about the dimensions just let me know.
