    IBasso T5 mini review

Right, recieved my T5 from ibasso today.   I put a good 4 hours on the unit before even listening to it properly, i have tested it with the beyer DT1350(80ohms), and it drives them really well. DT1350 scale up really well, and they really sound lovely out of the T5.   I get all the...

    IBasso T5 mini review

Quote:   i'll be trying the T5 with some beyer DT1350(80ohm) over the next week, but seeing as your 900's are only 40ohm and the power output of the t5 is quite respectable, i just dont see how it couldnt drive them well.   Hell, the fiio E5 can drive that kind of ohmage.

Review by 'LittleEgg' on item 'AUDIO TECHNICA ath es 55'

Very brief....   These are the first portable cans i have owned where i have been pleased from the very fiirst track i listened to with them.....sound is great even before burn in, and 10 hours in they keep improving naturally.   Nice tight bass, decent detail, nice soundstage/three...

    (~$100-200) Amp recommendation for HD598

Quote: Please dont judge the hd598 by the standard of onboard audio amplification.......that can be diabolical>plain bad. You will be in need of something like possibly a ibasso d4(because they are on sale/offer from ibasso right now), or fiio e7/e9, or if using a full size pc...

Anybody have any experience with the Audio-Technica ES55's?

The ath-es55 are lovely portable cans, very revealing and three dimentional........the reported clamping i keep hearing is a mystery to me, mine fit snugly and i can leave them on an hour without any bother at all.   And i have a large head too lol.   I had the sennheiser hd238 which...

FiiO e7 vs. Headroom Total Bit

At first i used the fiio L3 lod for ipod(5th gen) it was still decent with the E5/E7.....but this lod was another leap, and is what i use now.   http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250743642473   I shudder to imagine using the e5/e7 or any portable amp out of the...

    (~$100-200) Amp recommendation for HD598

Probably because the amps in all xonar cards colour the sound a bit(it did in my essence ST)....where as the fiio combo is neutral.   At first this very thing struck me, but after an extended listen i was left totally impressed by the e7/e9. Functionality wise it also cannot be knocked.

FiiO e7 vs. Headroom Total Bit

Quote:   Sorry but this is simply not correct...   I own a Fiio E7/E9 combo and the sound is really, really superb....i have also owned in the past an Asus xonar essence ST, ibasso d10, Firestone fubar iv, and graham slee voyager(for my ipod 5th gen), and this is my favourite combo...

    (~$100-200) Amp recommendation for HD598

Quote: I wholeheartedly agree on this...i listen to my hd598's on the high gain setting on the e9(supposed to be for 300ohm+ cans). Not only does it obviously increase volume at lower sound levels.....but imo also adds a layer of texture to the sound which isnt as distinct at lower...

    (~$100-200) Amp recommendation for HD598

Honestly i really couldnt disagree more....i have used the Asus Xonar essence ST for 6 months with the senny hd598's, and when i sold my pc i picked up the e7+e9 combo.   For starters there is a distinct increase in performance with the e9 added to the e7....more weight to the bottom end...
