Looking for a gaming/skype headset, about $60 or less
Thanks. You're right, they work on the Mac. However these headphones are SERIOUSLY hurting my head. I'm considering re-selling them. Does anyone know of any headset that will NOT kill my head? Anyone?- Lirpa

Any cheap headphones?
Yeah, I have been returning my portapros to be fixed for years. The bad news is they are NOT durable, good news is they ARE faithful to their lifetime warranty. It's pretty cool. The sound quality of the portapros is also excellent for an inexpensive headphone.- Lirpa

Nobody has any opinion on headsets? I just bought one of these http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-7-1-Channel-Surround-Sound-Headset/dp/B001O5CCQK/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1363360443&sr=1-13&keywords=logitech+headphones used for $60. But I am concerned now because I read that they...- Lirpa

I need a decent gaming headset that is both mac and pc compatible. Comfort and durability is a priority. Decent sound quality would be nice, although I don't expect them to compete with my Grados. I was thinking of buying the Plantronics GameCom 780 Surround Sound Stereo PC Gaming Headset...- Lirpa

I'm looking for an inexpensive headset for gaming and Skype. I only want to spend about $30 but will consider spending more if it's worth it. I have large head, so I'm reluctant to buy Koss because that brand tends to be tight. Edit: Must be both Mac and PC compatible.- Lirpa

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll try the bowl pads. I've been thinking of trying to build some c-pads, like this. Do you think this would negatively influence the sound? I wonder if anyone has done a test on the wood cups. It wouldn't be too difficult, you would just need to have...- Lirpa

A question for those that consider themselves audiophiles.
You seem to think being highly critical about something and having fun with something are mutually exclusive. I think it's possible to approach something in a serious manner and still be motivated by a desire to have fun with music. I'm sure there are people whose interest in equipment...- Lirpa

I have an SR60i and I'm new to the audiophile world. What should I upgrade next? Pads, cable, amp, source? What will make the biggest difference? I have a Macbook pro and a 6th generation Ipod Nano. I don't know if I want to bother with upgrading my portable music, because according to...- Lirpa

What do you all think of Bose?
Bose is really inconsistent. I have some cheap Bose speakers that sound okay, and some $100 Bose speakers that are absolute crap. Yes the cheap ones actually sound a lot better than the expensive ones. Maybe the expensive ones are counterfeit, or maybe Bose is just bad at quality control. My...- Lirpa

First pair of Headphones!
Yes, closed headphones generally keep ambient noise out, but it depends on the headphone. Some keep noise out better than others. The best thing to do would be to go to a high end audio store. I don't know where you live, but if you search on Yelp you can probably find one in your area. Or you...- Lirpa
