Need Hendrix-like recordings with way too much reverb!

No one will ever truly play/sound like Hendrix..its that simple. He created a unique sound which included the early use of feedback. I remember hearing "Are You Experienced" when it was released in 1967 and realizing that rock music, as I knew it, would never be the same again. SRV who idolized...

    World's best Vodka - Poll

Not a huge vodka fan, but I had a Polish g/f who turned me on to Zubrowka. It is flavored with bison grass. Really a unique and amazing taste, hard to describe, but kinda coconut-like. I drink it neat or with a cube or two. I always keep a bottle of it in the freezer. Highly recommended.

Need Hendrix-like recordings with way too much reverb!

Jimi's sound was the result of the early use of fuzz, wah and a pedal called a Univibe which gave him that underwater train sound. A very similar sound can be found in the playing of Robin Trower. Robin uses an updated version of the Univibe in his setup and he sure gets real close to Jimi's...

Any Warren Zevon fans here? FYI

I have loved Warren Zevon's work for as long as I can remember and I have almost everything he has ever recorded. It was therefore extremely sad news when I heard of Warren's diagnosis. He is a brilliant, much underrated/appreciated artist. In a recent article in the L.A. Times, he sounded brave...

Hey, Feelies Fans: The Feelies to Reunite!

Wow, TM, amazing review. I always dug The Feelies and flogged "Only Life" to death. A bit of Feelies trivia...They appear in the film "Something Wild" covering the Monkee's "I'm A Believer". They kill it!

    Grado RA1 help needed

I decided to fire up my RA1/SR225 combo this weekend and I get hardly any output. I've tried replacing the batteries with a bunch of other 9V I had laying around and nothing changes. I have the unit plugged into a Sony Walkman which seems to be working properly. I have the volume on the Walkman...

Rate The Last Movie You Watched

The Fountain, A Darren Aronfsky film. His first big budget attempt. While I enjoyed his other films, this one gives the word pretentious a whole new meaning.

Help, a song stuck in my head

The song "Cry" is indeed by Godley & Creme (formerly of 10cc) and appears on "The History Mix, Vol 1". By the way, the video for this song is very trippy. If you can track it down, check it out. Highly recommended. Funny, I got in the mood to hear this song several weeks ago as well. Hmmmmmmmm.

who do you think is the greatest rock guitarist of all time?

"I've heard the All Along the Watchtower cover, and hated it. Didn't do Bob Dylan justice. In fact, it threw it on the ground and trampled it. If his music is anything like that, boooooring." Wow, a lot of anger there. FYI Dylan is quoted as saying Jimi's cover is the definitive version of...

    New E5c...Yes!!!!!!!!!!

Luke: Your chastisement aside, thank you for your input. In fact, I did read your post. I was posting to advise that I had obtained Etymotic tri flanges and inquiring about others experiences using them with the e5c. Your comments regarding being patient with the Shure triflanges is well taken...
