i own a J3 and the standard clip (non-plus) and honestly for bass, theres no comparison. the J3's eq/bbe etc give it a much more lively sound with warmth and bass.   I do love both players but the J3 is the way to go, if budget permits.

Wondering what online stores with reasonable prices for the Shure 840 ear cushion replacements are that ship internationally.   My local headphone store wanted $40AUS for a pair, which is just crazy.

I have used the ES7s as my portable for a while,they are great, appart from not being the most comfortable. I now use them and the AT m50's which are larger, more comfortable, and actually provide isolation depending on where i'm going which you may want to check out?

just recently got my hands on an ipod photo, that needs a new hdd was considering the rockbox plus CF card route dont currently own an amp to go down the ipod route. Wondering if the headphone out is any good? or if its better off just to sell it off to a headfi-er who wants an imod.

Recently had the sound die in 1 ear on my re0's which i hadn't had for very long. When i received the replacement, they were to my surprise.... a 2nd hand pair, which cosmetically looked much older and more abused than the pair i sent in. I was honestly expecting more from the company...

happened to mine... 1 side went soft, then just died, was okay the next day, but then died completely. gave up and sent in for a replacement.

i've been using the Shure soft flex sleeves on my 716's for plane travel, isolation is slightly less but still good, and they are very comfortable compared to the stock tips

hi, recently purchased the STX, and was intending on using RCA output to an amp powering bookshelf speakers. Just wondering what volume in the STX control panel would be best for optimum sound quality? 50%? 100%? sorry if its an easy question. my first step out of portable audio
