    Sony MDR-7520

Having A/Bed the two, I would say that the PM-3s are technically better by a slight margin against the 7520s in every category except soundstage. While gaping wide soundstage is overrated, the PM-3's sound was just too close for me. I would describe the sound as thick, and I prefer my sound to...

    Sony MDR-7520

I'd be interested in A/Bing with a different pair. I just got the 7520s from someone in Oakland two or three weeks back. Apparently the guy only had 20 hours or so on it, so I'm still in the process of burning them in (maybe have 100-150 hours on them). I live in SJ, but went to UC Berkeley, and...

    Help...ESW-10 headband broke...

So a funny thing just happened...I was taking off my ESW-10s when the section above the swivel broke off, clean, with no snapping sound. Now I'm trying to superglue it back together, but it doesn't seem to be working too well. Here's a pic....     So does anyone know what I can do...

The iBasso D7 "Sidewinder" true 24/196 USB, images first page.

Have you tried the D6? I'm using that with my ESW10s and wondering about that comparison.   Quote:

New Hifiman Headphone HE-400 is out

I wasn't talking about language. You said HE-400 sound signature was tuned for American music, and I was wondering if that meant Chinese music sounded better on the HE-500s (Assuming different recording styles, etc).  Quote:

New Hifiman Headphone HE-400 is out

Speaking of which, would you recommend the HE-500 or HE-400 sound signature for mandarin tracks?   BTW, are you from the Tianjin area? That's the first thing that comes to mind whenever I see Nankai. Quote:

    Any Head-fiers at SJSU?

Up in Berkeley for school, but home is down in SJ. If this happens, I'm interested!

    iBasso D6 "Fer-de-Lance" USB DAC/Amp

This caught my attention. Have you tried running the HE-6 with the D6 yet? Do you think it might provide enough power for the LCD2s or the HE-500s, knowing that they're less power hungry than the HE-6s.   Quote:

USB DAC/Amp for 300 ohm Cans (title change)

Quote: I was using the D6 as a DAC as well, playing 320 kbps files from itunes.   Anyone tried using the D6 to drive the LCD2s or the HE-500s? I would be curious to see if they can drive these lower powered orthos sufficiently.

Headphone Sensitivity / Power Requirements Compared

I wonder what the Audeze LCD2 or the HE-500s need (given that they are the more sensitive orthos out there)?

USB DAC/Amp for 300 ohm Cans (title change)

I've tried the D6 HD650 combo. It's pretty good, drove it way better than my old meier headsix and certainly better than a desktop with a dedicated sound card. The D6 really takes away that "veil". The sound opens up a lot more, the soundstage expands, and you hear more far more detail. Still...
