Hi, can only speak for the xb950bt not the xb950N1 (never tried them). the 950bt is a bit more bass heavy than the 900N's but 950bt are more muddy sounding than the 900N, if you're a heavy user of the bass boost button stay with the 950's, if you want clearer sound go for the 900N's.- lasttodie

Hi there, first of all I'm BAD at explaining things SQ on the XB900N are pretty nice, they're not muddy at all and they got BASS, the 1000xm3 are more "hifi" but not half as fun as the XB's, so if your a basshead you go for the 900n's. if I was you Would be giving Sony wh-xb900n a chance, highs and mids are great and the bass will kick your teeths out :) 30 hours battery with bluetooth (you can also use them wired) Think you can get them for under 150$ on Amazon. No change for me, the ear pads are still good, but I bought an extra set from someone on ebay (not originale pads but still good) and they fit my Sony mdr-V6 to. btw I do not remember the sellers name- lasttodie
