    Avantone : Pro Planar

I decided to try these headphones out a month ago and have become a fan of them. I record/mix/edit so I need a presentation which is relatively neutral. These have a good amount of detail and show the texture and timbre of things as well as the separation of sounds so it's pretty obvious to me...

Any old fart head-fi'ers still around?

Hey guys. Just checking in on this funny thread. It's nice to see some familiar names still. I went to NY CanJam today and it was funny to be around so many headphones again. The sheer number of products now is overwhelming!

Official NYC Metro Area "Headphonatics Anonymous" Fall Meet - November 15th - Stamford Sheraton - Stamford, CT

I need to do stuff around the area so I'm going to drop by early and probably leave early. I want to hear a bunch of new gear and meetup with people I haven't seen in ages.   Anybody want to meet early in Grand Central? If so let's exchange contact info.

NY /Regional Fall meet, November 9th, 2013 impressions

I'm an ancient member who hasn't been to one of these things in like 6 years or so. It was amazing to see the changes of the market. I was excited to hear a TON of new products. The magnetic planar stuff was interesting. I heard the HD800 for the first time in many rigs. I think I like it more...

    The Canon Thread

Quote:   Agreed. Have you seen the new Pentax released that accepts their normal lenses? It's not much smaller than their regular DSLRs.

So what does everybody think of the new lenses? :D

I guess that depends what you can sell it for and what prices of still cameras are. I think you can probably get a 20D or 30D.

    X-Japan

I used to like them but honestly, there just aren't enough songs. Sso my fav J-Rock band is Luna Sea. Their music is not similar at all though.

    Got my NEC drive today

You can also just call fullcompass. ART DI/O is like a gem. It's supposed to be used for pro audio recording use. It's hard to believe something that cheap can provide that level of quality. That's why there's a cult following

Nah I think it's fine for full half and full body shots which is like "60mm". I prefer using more telephoto like 300mm for headshots.

I just got a cheap LX3 for this trip also. I can use pocketwizard on the hot shoe so I can still use my lights. It also has electronic shutter so I can darken the sky easily so I don't have to use big powered lights. It uses a CCD which gives no rolling shutter effect on the video. I also love...

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)

I'm packing for a trip and it WAS hard choosing what cameras to bring until I looked at the size and weight of everything. Now that I must downsize, I think I'm bringing my Nikon because the overall setup is smaller and lighter. Imagine this, the Canon 85 1.2 weighs as much as the Nikon 35/2...

Shooting with non IS handheld is too jerky for my tastes. If you're serious about taking some video, IS is really important IMO. The 50 1.8's bokeh is also not too great. Another thing I don't like about it is the manual focusing. It doesn't feel good and it's not full time manual since it's not...

I love Publix. I wish I had one here. Which lens did you use? 7D could really use the 17-55 2.8 or 24-105 for the IS.

You did a nice review from your heart. That's cool that you like ZEISS and FUJI. They are indeed unique products with unique results. When shooting JPEG, it is quite important to get things right out of camera. I use photoshop a lot to modify things like color and contrast so for me...
