*looking for source pt 2*
FWIW, I had 963sa and MSB Dac Link III, and before I sold the 963sa I never used its analog out for Red Book (MSB has a tad more air). I'm not sure how the tos sounds but in the worst case you get a second had MSB and get better Red Book than 963sa - Assuming you don't need SACD.- kwong

Anybody using a Minidisc deck as a DAC?
I've got a JB940 (QS series) and compared it with unmodded MSB DAC Link III and it's a touch less airy but better than the CD player from a mini-Hifi (Onkyo). Regarding damage to the recording head mine would work as a DAC without putting in an MD, so that's not an issue I suppose.- kwong

Inside the latest Benchmark DAC1
Can't resist ... Iron_Dreamer, since you have both 1212M and Benchmark, how do they compare? (Hope my 1212M is not the flavor-of-the-month)- kwong

Surround sound arrives for redbook & radio
Is it the same thing as Media Player SRS effects? I doubt it'll work for us ... a few years back Rock Records released something called 3D CD in Malaysia, which is the original CD played through a karaoke filter. It instantly turned my rig into a boombox - I wanted to wash my ears afterwards- kwong

How would you rank the latest DAC / CDP / Soundcards?
Hi, I have had MSB DAC Link III for a few years, then followed the crowd and brought Philips 963SA, then EMU 1212M. I think EMU is good enough that I considered selling the MSB and not worry about source anymore. But deep down I still want to hear someone do a comparision between the...- kwong

Why use headphones?
I just fried my speakers, so I'm considering buying a new pair of speakers. After some audition I found that I've been spoiled and cannot go back to any speakers under $1000, but because this is totally unplanned I have reservations about spending this much money now. So I can either buy the...- kwong

MSB Link DAC?
Anyone has the chance to compare the PSU-upgraded MSB with other DACs (e.g. MF A3.2 24, or Benchmark)? I felt uncomfortable paying the same amount for PS as the MSB, that's why I bought EMU 1212M, thinking it would cost much more to get better sound.- kwong

MSB Link DAC?
For equipment that I've owned 1. EMU 1212M (Best) 2. MSB DAC Link III (stock) 3. Sony MD MDS-JB940 4. Philips 963SA (stock) I'm not sure about the difference between 3/4 since I've sold 4 already. I've had the DAC Link III for about 3 years, so I think it should be out at least in 2000...- kwong
