Totally hypothetical but how good would this be for desktop use? Tempted to buy the U149 edition but I rarely use anything portable. I have Fostex THX00 and ODAC2 at the moment, should I use this instead or keep it in the box until I need something portable?

How well does this pair with low impedance headphones? I'm getting Fostex TH-X00 later this year, is it better than using integrated? Seems to have really high output ohms compared to other amps which I've read pair well Fostex.

Any idea how these would pair with DacMagic Plus? Says "Output impedance<50 Ohms" and these are 26 ohms.

Says "Price: $14.95 + $13.34 Shipping & Import Fees Deposit to Finland" for the Grado Adapter, so it ends up being little more expensive than the Audeze adapter. I assume there's no difference between them so should just go with the Audeze?

Actually just asked one of Sennheiser retailers here if they have those cable adapters. Looks like Audeze ships internationally and only 26$ with shipping for that adapter, might pick it up if can't find any locally. I'll be needing one to use with the soundcard. I guess that's not bad price to...

Thanks to both, really appreciated. It's not out of the picture that I'll get DAC/AMP later this year but already pretty big year for me as it is, can't nail that one down yet. I'm not that knowledged in hi-fi in general and just really enjoy listening to music, the jump from my bad headphones...

Thanks, that's reassuring. I know it's going to sound better with more expensive sources, but when someone says "needs" amplification that just makes me think twice. Sure, I'll keep it in mind to let them break in properly when I receive them in May.
