    Comfortable headphones recommendations

KSC75's neutral? I tested the KSC75 and porta's side by side once, but that was a long time ago. I don't know if they changed the sound signature of the KSC75's, but the I've had like 3 pair of porta's because the cords keep getting loose end connections after awhile, and shipping them back and...

    Comfortable headphones recommendations

You said you don't like bass, both the KSC75 and Porta Pro's are bassy. There are many options for open headphones, almost all the headphones you mentioned are open or semi-open, the koss' and DT 990 Pro. I have owned a DT 880 at some point. The velvet padding is one of the most comfortable pair...

Need help, many years of searching

If you're undecided and going mainly with online reviews, I suggest you go to a headfi meetup or a retail store that specializes in headphones, there is one locally within 10 miles from me that I can try hundreds of headphones. You will never get it right the first time, especially if you never...

    super comfy iem

Most models of IEM's are generally of the same comfort, except for custom IEM's (Jh audio's, ultimate ears, etc.), because the universal tips are interchangeable. Give the memory foams tips a try over the flange and silicone. Also, use the smallest tip, as they don't put any pressure on your...

    Comfortable headphones recommendations

I can't comment on the M30X or any Audio-Technica's because I never owned them. After following the headfi hype train back in the day, I gave the Koss' headphones a shot. What did I have to lose? they're under $30 on sale. IMO, they sound better than my $80 IEM's I'm currently using for my...

    Comfortable headphones recommendations

KSC75 is bassier than the Porta's. You can adjust the tightness of the headband on the Porta's, while it's a small improvement, it doesn't make it that much more comfortable. Both headphones will improve drastically with a good amp. If you commute via subway, both the koss' don't do very well...

Help! Where can I audition sennheiser HD700 or RS1i?

You can make a day trip to new york city and audition some high end sennheisers and grado's at the B&H store: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/   Keep in mind, the store is very busy, and may cause some ambience, which will interfere with your listening assessment (not that it's much different...

I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions

Finally, a portable player worthy of the term audio bliss. Paired with my Mustang & Shure SE530, didn't expect to find music to sound this good in a tiny nutshell. Music is warm and bassy. Vocals are pretty clear, but not too crisp - just the way I like it. The X1000 was good alone, but I don't...

Will an amp improve my KSC-70 phones?

Do you mean the KSC-75? They're one of my favorite headphones. When amped, they sound from good to extraordinary, especially when powered by a mustang.

    Why lossless on portables?

There must be some masochistic reason why I prefer to use lossless over 320kbps when I can't hear an audible difference. After all, It eats up the batteries much faster and takes up more space. I guess, deep inside, it makes me feel cool and superior over mp3 users. Additionally, it settles some...

    HD650...First Impressions

I've had the 650's for about 4 years, before I even started collecting headphones as a hobby, and are still my favorite cans even to this day. You can say they're the cans that started me all off. I prefer them over the K701, K1000, PS-1, ATH-3000, R10, and DT880. Perhaps they accommodate my...

Logitech buys Ultimate Ears for $34 million cash

Logitech has became a housebrand name not too long ago. Their products are nothing short of practical and durable. However, where they will be taking UE is totally beyond what they can even imagine.

How Many Posts Until I'm Smart?

Very reflective. Word has it around here that the more you post, the more head-fi knowledgeable you are.

    Best headphone under $100.

Bass, mids and highs... isn't that almost asking for it all. You could try the Koss KSC-75. They're very well balanced with a decent tone; although a little grainy compared to higher end cans (which improves dramatically with an amp)... but what do you expect for cans under $20.
