    Calling All "Vintage" Speaker Owners

Good find randerson! I may have to pick up a pair of those before they become harder to find than they already are. Thanks for the response Skylab, I figured it would be something complex that couldn't be easily replicated without original hardware. I'm curious how they sound from the factory, I...

    Calling All "Vintage" Speaker Owners

Slight cross-post from another thread I started, a user suggested I post in here.   I have a question for all vintage speaker fans!   I inherited a pair of HPM-60 from my father and did some minor repairs to them to bring them back to life. Several years ago, the 10" woofers dried out...

    Pioneer HPM-60 Questions

I noticed that thread but figured it was primarily used for members showing their equipment. I'll cross-post to see if I get a response.

    Pioneer HPM-60 Questions

I inherited a pair of HPM-60 from my father and did some minor repairs to them to bring them back to life. Several years ago, the 10" woofers dried out and were removed so I purchased a pair of Dayton Audio SD270A-88's to replace them. Unfortunately since I haven't heard the original woofers, I...

    Removing Rockbox from Clip+

Good call ccbass! I noticed this as well. A reformat took care of it.

Thanks for the reply. This fixed it. I had no idea it was this straight forward!

    Removing Rockbox from Clip+

I installed Rockbox onto my new Clip+ to give it a try after hearing so much praise. It works well but I actually like the interface of the stock firmware more. I used the Rockbox utility to install the firmware and now am having trouble uninstalling it.   I select "Complete Uninstall" which...

    Refurbished Clip+ worth it?

Well I went ahead and ordered an 8GB Clip+ to use with my 16GB microSD card. I can't wait, I'm so tired of dealing with my mediocre HTC and dying iPhone 3G. Thanks again head-fi-ers!

    Refurbished Clip+ worth it?

Thanks for the responses. I'm most likely going to go with an 8gb unit, probably new if Amazon continues to reduce its price. I'm just sitting back and watching now, lol.   Unrelated question for the Clip+ owners: when you have a microSD card inserted (not slot radio card), does the player...

    Refurbished Clip+ worth it?

This is true. I was looking to save as much as possible and found a refurb 8GB that is $15 less than a new one. Thanks for reassuring the quality of the Clip+. Before discovering it, I was going to buy a Cowon but I couldn't find a model that fit my needs and limited budget.

    Refurbished Clip+ worth it?

I've been debating buying a Sansa Clip+ and was wondering if anyone has had experience with refurbished models. I've purchased products refurbished before and have had mixed results in quality. If you bought one refurbished, have you had any problems with it, in terms of sound quality or general...

    audioengine a2 eq settings?

Hey raisedbywolves,   I had the same initial response when I bought my pair of A2's. If you haven't done it already, play them for a good amount of time to burn them in. I don't know if it was a placebo effect, but my speakers seemed a bit better after doing so.   Placement is key with...

    Summing up <$200

I haven't heard any of the speakers you mentioned personally, but when I was looking for a pair of 2.0 speakers, I asked the same questions. From what members on here have said, the AV30's lack a lot of bass, with the AV40's providing a little more. The Swans provide the most bass due to its'...

    Restoring Speakers

I was rooting around my basement when I came across my fathers' old Pioneer HPM-60 speakers and though it'd be a fun idea to rebuild them, since the woofers have rotted out long ago and the remaining speakers probably aren't in the best shape.   I can tell that the woofer is 10 inches and...
