    gilmore signal-path resistors question

I have an amp based on Antness' v1 board. I was interested in upgrading the resistors from little brown dale-vishays to tants or caddocks. Could someone tell me which resistors are actually in the signal path? Thanks.

    Gilmore Dynamic amp fried, help!

Before I could try replacing all the LEDs and capacitors, I fried the amp again. Same way, plugged in the wrong cable... This time my power supply fuse quickly blew. I tried replacing the LEDs, hoping the transistors didn't fry. But, both rows of 2SC1815s get scorching hot. So, I will try...

    Gilmore Dynamic amp fried, help!

I replaced every transistor on the audio board. The OPA227P opamps still get scorching hot to the touch within 5 seconds. All the original red LEDs still light up, but I'll try replacing those tonight. Could the LEDs cause the opamps to heat up like that? Maybe their matching is off after...

    Gilmore Dynamic amp fried, help!

Valid question. I have a three Hammond box setup (Gilmore power supply, DAC power supply, DAC/amp combo). Two non-descript 5-pin XLR umbilicals connect the Gilmore PS to the other two. The first connects the Gilmore PS to the DAC PS, sending 110VAC and returning +5VDC. The second connects...

    Gilmore Dynamic amp fried, help!

Thanks everyone. I will replace all the transistors and give it another try. Any recommendations on where to purchase 2SA1015 and 2SC1815 transistors? Most places seem to be sold out.

    Gilmore Dynamic amp fried, help!

Aside from the crappy soldering, I didn't notice any burnt components... Picture w/ OPA227s removed. Cut traces were re-wired on reverse.

    Gilmore Dynamic amp fried, help!

Long story short... I accidentally passed 110VAC straight through to my Gilmore Dynamic amp's 16VDC input! ZAP! After plugging my power cables in the RIGHT places this time, I said a little prayer and flipped the switch. The amp still made "noise," but the audio was garbled and staticky...

    Recieved the PS Audio Preamp

Kieran, I have my HCA-2 feeded a pair of GR Research Diluceo speakers (4ohm/91db) w/ ribbon tweaters. They start dropping off at 55dB, so I'm probably not hearing all this class-D amp is capable of, bass-wise. I have yet to try another amp with these speakers. My system is very clear and...

    Recieved the PS Audio Preamp

Kieran, Awesome, I am looking for a preamp to go w/ my PS Audio HCA-2. And the Twin Head and PCA-2 were both at the top of my list. Have you arrived at any further conclusions or will it take a bit more burn-in? Thanks for sharing your experiences.

    Dodd Audio tube headphone amp

In defense of Danny from GR Research, he does not make a single penny from Dodd Audio sales. He is simply helping his friend Gary Dodd get his product out there, as Gary has no internet presence to display his amps and preamps. I also remember hearing that Dodd Audio bought out the reminants of...

    CDRom

puppyslugg, Thanks for the link. I noticed their ebay ads before, but I wasn't happy about the $15 shipping charge. I might just go w/ them, as I have yet to see a cheaper unit on ebay that includes the disc caddy. And I can't go much longer without my trusty DI/O...

    CDRom

Check this link out. It's info on the NEC MultiSpin 6Xe external CD-Rom drive (CDR-602). It has a digital coaxial RCA output. I'm try to get my hands on one off ebay, as my Optimus CD-3400's motor (or motor IC) died. Sucks. Positive Feedback CD-Rom Transport Article

    META42 and battery pack help!!

Actually, I think a Gilmore PS is a worth-while upgrade. It is quieter than batteries. The META42 I sold venzuel00 is maxed out w/ multiple Black Gates per rail, Caddock resistors in signal path, silver wiring, an Alps Blue pot, EL2009s, and the AD8620. It would benefit from a better PS, no...
