Computer speakers 2.1 or 2.0 setup for around $350-400 budget
Swans or M-audio 2.0 powered bookshelf speakers. Bought a pair of Swans M200 speakers about 10 years back, and still love them. Don't bother with super-high-end speakers running on an amplifier. It seems to be way overkill for computer audio, especially considering the operating environment...- kent1146

Sennheiser G4ME headsets (Zero and One) vs. Steelseries Siberia Elite
Can't help you too much there. I'm not much of a speakerhead. For what it's worth, you're looking at about $100 - $125 to get to the first major jump in audio quality. After that, you're looking at ~$200 - $250 for the next major jump in quality, and to get into what audiophiles would...- kent1146

Sennheiser G4ME headsets (Zero and One) vs. Steelseries Siberia Elite
You'll do fine with the Sennheiser G4me Zero headset. If you have up to $250 to spend, and just want a simple purchase for headsets that have high audio quality, then you'd want to look at the headsets manufactured by companies that specialize in headphones (Sennheiser, Audio Technica...- kent1146

Why does sound card native output bitrate matter?
Hi all. I was hoping someone with computer audio experience can help me answer this. I've read some reviews / opinions on Head-Fi regarding computer audio output devices. What do all of these terms mean? * Bitrate (e.g. 48kHz) * Native PCM output (are there alternatives?) *...- kent1146

Intentionally unbalanced Headphones Computer Gaming
All- I am hoping to get some help looking for headphones for use while computer gaming. I am specifically looking for a rich, visceral sound from my headphones on a budget of $100 - $150. My current setup is: Computer --> Creative X-Fi PCI sound card ----> (outputs 5.1 sound via...- kent1146

Do you have a soft spot for a particular set of headphones?
Do you have a favorite pair of headphones, that you love and will keep forever? I was listening to a new album that I got today, and I found myself automatically reaching for my Etymotic ER-4P's that I've had for about 6 or 7 years. They're ugly, they have thin bass, they're fragile...- kent1146

Sennheiser PC300 and Razer Moray+ Review/Video Review
Very nice reviews, Steggy. I just recently purchased a laptop for gaming when I am travelling for work (Alienware M11x), and wanted a pair of nice gaming headphones with an in-line mic. The design of the Razer Moray+ was interesting to me, but I cannot bring myself to buy headphones...- kent1146

Audio Technica CKM-55 IEM Unboxing (w/Pics)
It's been a while since I've posted on these forums, mostly because my interest in the headphone hobby has declined over the past few years. But during a recent business trip, I was lucky enough to be in Taipei, Taiwan, where I wandered over to the Guang Hua electronics market (a geek's dream)...- kent1146

Gearbags?
I don't know how "portable" your gear is. But I had an iPod mini, Portaphile V2, and Etymotic ER-4S headphones, which fit very nicely in a digital camera case. Even if your gear is a little larger than that, a camera bag should give you the space, compartments, carrying straps, etc that you...- kent1146

Anyone ever forget the music and only think of the Equipment?
Lol.... Two things: 1) I find myself in that situation all the time. Just today, I was out at a street fair where some band was jammin on stage, and I just thought to myself "Wow! The lead singer was is wearing Shure E5Cs!!" I can't tell you, for the life of me, what he sang or what he was...- kent1146

Headphones" Playing favorites and the middle-child
Have you ever bought a pair of headphones with the full intention of trying them out, then selling them... only to like them so much that you keep them? Do you ever keep a pair of headphones that you really have no use for, except you can't bring yourself to part with them? Do you find...- kent1146
