I believe that's just the nature of the MMCX connection and having a detachable earphone. You trade one thing for another, depending on what matters more. I'd had several MMCX earphones and the IE 900 feels like one of the sturdiest to me.

I'd be more worried about the chassis than if something broke internally. The internals should be pretty strongly suspended within. If it works fine then it probably is.

I do actually, and I'm a OG Utopia + Hugo 2 user. I don't personally find analytical listening unrelaxing, and I feel there's enough musicality to the Utopia that even with the Hugo 2 it's not a sterile experience. That said, the experience can be tailored with a tube amp if one is in the mood...
