I too thank you for the AliExpress recommendation. I have a set of the grey pads coming and will compare them to the Brainwave and original pads. If they can split the difference between the two, they’ll be a winner for sure.

Well, I can say that after installing the Brainwave pads the bass "problem" is no more. Now there may well be too much bass, at the expense of the highs. Thank goodness the Brainwave pads were not expensive.

Darren, im sorry the AM05’s didn’t float your boat. They do mine out of the DX160. I’ve been going back and forth between them and the Thieaudio Legacy 5’s. I love them both - abet for different reasons. But I personally would never divest myself of the AM05’s. But we’re talking about your ears...

Huh, I have both the DX160 and the AM05's and I wouldn't come close to calling that combo bright. Wouldn't call it warm either.

I swapped out the stock AM05 cable for a pure silver Fiio LC 4.4 balanced and WOW! did the sound of the AM05 take off. I'm having a super hard time choosing between the AM05 (with silver cable) and the Thieaudio Legacy 5 with upgraded cable.
