The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones

Can't go wrong with either IMO, both are amazing headphones. easy enough to peruse both forums to figure which suits your preference best. Edit: forgot to mention, I think they both are an excellent compliment to the Auteur, but personally I think the Closed would be a good contrast. It does...

The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones

And I thought that Damocles was John Cleese's ne'er do well brother. Doesn't anyone have ANYTHING to post about Amps & ZMF??? Please for the love of God make it stop!

Is that a @L0rdGwyn designed DAC? (he asks as he wipes drool off of his keyboard)

ZMF Verite Closed-New Closed Back ZMF Flagship.

Hey no worries Geoff, I wasn't correcting you just passing along the information as I remember. Hopefully Zach will chime in when he can. I'm just glad there's another quality review out there for people to read.

ZMF Verite Closed-New Closed Back ZMF Flagship.

I believe @zach915m had mentioned that the Verite series does have some elements of the ADS, or some tuning similarities that helped inspire the ADS. Damned if I can find the post though.

    ZMF Auteur Thread

I believe that's @BooUrns ' genius at work. Only she can fill you in as to her creative process.

    ETA Mini Closed

I was never good with the weather analogy lol. Notes don't sound overly crisp nor sluggish to me if that's what you mean. They're not beryllium fast nor as smooth as biodynamic drivers if that helps. Somewhere between those types.

    ETA Mini Closed

I experienced no veil in my short time with them, and dynamics were very good. They're pretty neutral leaning warm IMO.

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

Gotcha, Schiit makes some good stuff. I don't have much experience in the 3-600 range personally, but I have found that tubes are (in general) a great compliment to ZMFs. I had used the Massdrop/Cavalli Tube Hybrid for a while, which gave me my 1st taste of tube magic. I imagine that the...

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

What DAC are you using? In my experience it's important to consider synergy when you're trying to dial in a preference.

The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones

Not familiar with the Musette, and I've heard the Orchid more than the Onyx. The advantage (or disadvantage depending on your perspective) is that the Orchid is a tube based DAC, so there is some flexibility in fine tuning the sound.

I know that @Pharmaboy has both of those amps, he is a big fan of his Metrum Onyx and MHDT Orchid. I've heard them briefly and really enjoyed the combo, but he can give a more detailed impression than I.

    ZMF Aeolus Impressions thread

There's no right answer here in my opinion...the Aeolus is still some seriously good ear candy. I definitely miss it at times. Bokeh open is promising to be a helluva fun listen too. Definitely a "pick your poison" here I imagine. Either one is a winner.

    ZMF Aeolus Impressions thread

The Verite pads pulled back the mid bass even more without neutering the fun (for my taste ofc) and added just a touch more energy to the upper mids/lower treble compared to the suede. Helped with some of the frequencies I need a bit more from with aging ears Verite pads are not made any...

    ZMF Aeolus Impressions thread

The Aeolus & Pendant (OG) were my go to for a while, I loved that combo (Universe Suede & Verite Pads and OG Bifrost 2). I never felt wanting for detail even though that isn't Aeolus' forte and could happily listen for hours. I went to the Atrium (O), which I love, but every time I hear an...
