Fostex T50RP Incremental Mods and Measurements
I am planning on building the phantom power supply described in this forum thread, and was wondering if I need to ground the PCB board externally if I use a plastic case? Also...do I have to build the stereo supply (or dual mono) in order to use the REW software?- jerrygp

BJT Diamond Buffer JFET question
Thank you. I do have a PM waiting for him when he gets back, but I wanted to explore any thoughts the forum might have first. I will mention the J301 and resistor requirement with him at his convenience.- jerrygp

BJT Diamond Buffer JFET question
I have built a few Millet amps and now am going to do the Millet Hybrid Minimax. It's been a few years since these builds have been in existence and I cannot find a source for the Fairchild PN4392 JFET's used in BJT Diamond Buffer.. They are now obsolete it seems, and Beezar.com does not carry...- jerrygp

Hotrodding the X-Fi: A Layman's Guide (No 56k)
I am finished with the mods to my xtreme music card and it's probably been mentioned in theis forum before but I can't find it - what are you folks using as an insulating layer between the ers paper and the back of the card and how do you attach both to the soundcard? I didn't buy the adhesive...- jerrygp

New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp
Thank you folks for the valued info. I'm in the process of building a new PC and haven't purchased a sound card yet or know yet if I even need to, but have a solid motherboard/cpu/memory configuration. I've been reading posts in different forums about how to "best get the most" out of the...- jerrygp

New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp
This is not the correct forum for this, but I searched the computer-as-source forum and could find no help. Can someone pm me and explain what a DAC's function is in a computer audio environment? As far as I've been able to decipher, it converts digital information to analog information for the...- jerrygp

New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp
Just put about thirty hours on my 2nd max with Black Gates and the Russian K42's at CA8...breaking in verrry sweetly. You guys are the best. Got parts for a third and will be doing "can't miss" build #2 or 3. Thought I was overdoing it buying three boards at the beginning, but...- jerrygp

New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp
I jumpered the fuse position on the production board on my almost complete second build, and hooked up my power leads to positions 1 and 2 while leaving position three on the terminal block unused. I am thinking the jumper is unnecessary in this config. Can anyone give me a yay or nay on the...- jerrygp

New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp
Thank you all for your help. CR1D is reversed. I don't know how that slipped by...I am usually very...anal about my DIY stuff. (Have to be with no electronics training or experience.) Tomb mentioned polarized Black Gates, the side of the canister has "nonpolar" markings, so I assume I am alright...- jerrygp

New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp
Finished up my second Millet Hybrid, powered it up, checked the DB bias, and had plugged my multimeter probes into the V+ and GRD tip jacks to check voltage, and then CR1D ruptured at the seam and steam spewed forth like a small geyser. The top of the cap is slightly distorted but there are no...- jerrygp
