Audinst-HUD-MX2 DAC/Amp
That doesn't sound good. Especially if the condition exists on two seperate computers. Are you using external power, or USB bus power? Try here as well: http://audinst.com/en/forums- jellowiggler

Audinst-HUD-MX2 DAC/Amp
Compared to the O2 combo: More input/output options. Cheaper. I listen to Sennheiser Momentum over ear and Klipsh S4i in ear on my MX2 which are sensitive cheap noisy amps. The background is quite inky blackness as loud as I can listen to it, which is only about 1/2 I've never...- jellowiggler

Logitech UE6000
They compare very well in the $200-250 range. Given that they are priced at $100 right now they are very good for the money.- jellowiggler

No Audio Through Dac/Amp
What is your default play back device in Windows? If it is the analog out on your onboard audio chip you need to change it to the USB on your dac. (or coax or optical) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk- jellowiggler

DT880 vs NAD HP50: Apples vs Oranges?
I would say senn momentum over ear, ue6000 and hp50/psb m4u for closed. Senn 280 and 380 pro, sony 7506,at ath-m50x are also good but not quite in the same class.- jellowiggler

FiiO E09K without E17
You mentioned needing more outputs than just headphone. So I'd look at something like the audinst HUD mx2 over the O2 ( which is also super, just lacking extra in/out options) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk- jellowiggler

Audinst HUD-MX2 vs ODAC/O2 vs Graham Slee Bitzie. A few portable Dac/Amps.
What settled it for me is that the mx2 has more than one input and output. So it makes the unit way more versetial.- jellowiggler

Audinst-HUD-MX2 DAC/Amp
I just ordered a hud-mx2 for on amazon.ca. $250cdn + shipping. So you don't have to go to eBay if you don't want to. I picked it because the reviews were great. The pedigree is with it being an improvement of a very liked model. I will run my current momentum and sr80, and be expandable into...- jellowiggler

Logitech UE6000
I was just on the hunt for a pair of headphones to give me a change from my very aging SR80. I had picked up the AKG 550 for $200, but they didn't fit right. Then I went lookingnkfor m50x $190, PSB m4u 1 $300, NAD hp50 $400 or Momentum over ear $300. I ended up with UE6000 $200. What a great...- jellowiggler

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!
I think that people say the bass is light on these because they don't get a consistant seal. It is there with authority when you have the right fit. I am not a forum vet, but I have been wearing headphones for my whole mid-thirties life on this planet. The AKG 550 is the most difficult time...- jellowiggler

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!
It is a fairly thick and rubberized cord. It is not stiff, but not it's not the super malleable spagetti type cord either. Kind of in the middle of the spectrum, the rubber coating brings it up a notch. It's not detachable, but does feel like it belongs on a $200 set of headphones. Pretty...- jellowiggler

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!
It's true. Just sqweezed a bit too hard to bend the head band and pop! Take it easy out there folks! Bend the metal without stressing where it meets the plastic. The funny thing is I had fought to get a reliable seal and good sound from these phones for days, and I was finally happy with it. I...- jellowiggler

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!
Bah! My head band broke after 4 days of ownership. Now I'm really ticked. The shop i just bought them from won't take them back. So now I have to deal with Harmon/AKG. I've already been though 4 numbers that weren't the right place/country to call. Where do you call for Canada consumer...- jellowiggler

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!
I can't believe how much of a difference adding some extra padding and bending the head band made such a difference. I can now find the right fit so much easier. Now the character doesn't change whether or not I'm pressing on the phones or not. One thing I noticed is that it is an order of...- jellowiggler
