Recommend short interconnect between DAC and AMP?
sanne, you will not hear a difference between 3" and 1 foot, so go with the 1 foot cable you mention. Or try the (absolutely fine) LC-1 that Thaddy mentioned (...comes in 0.5 M increments). However if you are doing it for physical presentation then you are likely to have to pay someone for the... -

New amps in the market - your opinions?
I like decent power supplies too. My ideal amp would be solid state open loop, gain switch (for x2 and x4), 2 balanced inputs, 2 unbalanced inputs, unbalanced pre-amp out connectors, jack and XLR output headphone connectors, stepped attenuator with at least 40 positions, separate power...- JB197

New amps in the market - your opinions?
Thanks for the replies... @Ypoknons, I think "great power supplies" and "make them for less" would be dificult to arrange, but I can see where you are coming from. You mentioned the M3... maybe there is a niche for a non-DIY amp that is specifically designed to op-amp roll? Not my ideal...- JB197

Going to London. Tips?
I used to live just outside of London and have been in many, many times. It's huge, always busy and there is always something to do. The only problems are overcrowding at times, an old fashion feel to the underground system (which is always a mini-adventure in it's own right), and often the...- JB197

New amps in the market - your opinions?
Just been chatting with a couple of friends about headphone amp selection. Two of us thought that all amp types are available, and we have a nice selection of amps to choose from. However the third person in our discussion, who happens to be at college learning marketing, said that there is...- JB197

HD650 balanced cable NEED HELP!!!
I don't know for sure, but I think the standard HD650 cable runs two separate grounds from the 'phones down to the jack plug. If so, then all you need to do is re-terminate the standard cable, and not change the whole thing. You get to try "balanced" and don't spend a fortune! Also make up (or... -

What type of sound is the most complex to reproduce faithfully?
Quote: khaos974, I think the OP meant natural, voice, and instrument sounds! If talking about loudspeakers, I think the answer would depend on the speaker system being used. Surely it is hard to stop and reverse a large mass speaker driver when it is accelerated fast towards...- JB197

Joshua Tree Attenuator, suitable input impedance for the 3-channel B22?
Quote: Yup you certainly could do that. Just make sure it has high-ish input Z, a low-ish ouput Z and is happy to drive 2k2. But, honestly, that's getting complex and it's a bit like sticking a big plaster over a smaller plaster. It's going to be much more simple and more...- JB197

Beeman I find your posts strange. It is interesting that evolution has resulted in some of us having such bright shiny intellects that we think we are big enough to deny evolution itself and the core instincts evolved witin us, which includes moral rightness. 99.999999 % of homo sapiens do...- JB197
