Theoretical question: Is there a sonic difference at the same volume, between using the balanced output with low gain and a higher volume, or the balanced output with high gain and the volume knob turned lower?

Looks like you'd need to buy a separate DAC though.

That's pretty much the deal of the century, then. Publicly Audeze only said bamboo and aluminum.   I'm way more excited about the aluminum than I thought I'd be. Even looking at the picture of his Rosewoods, I don't think I'd trade. These things are heavy enough as it is.

The only b-stock variants were bamboo and aluminum.    I didn't think I wanted the aluminum ones, until I opened the box. Pictures don't really do the finish justice.

It sounds like any orders that weren't processed were a result of payment issues. Audeze has reiterated that it's fulfilling all B-stock orders. Congrats to everyone who received a $499 headphone with a 3-year warranty for cans that go for $650 used.
