My K550s have plenty of bass. Not sure what you are talking about. My music preferences range from Progressive, Downtempo, Acid Jazz, Hip-Hop (not rap), ect...   It isn't skull crushing bass, but it definitely isn't weak. Made my Q701s feel like I have been missing something this whole time.

I enjoy my K550s very much for electronica / dubstep / progresive, but as another member mentioned, the Denon AH-D2000 would definitely be the way to go if you can get ahold of a pair.   I am in the processes of selling my K550s to get the AH-D2000 before they become too hard to find.  ...

I truly enjoy my K550. I have owned mine for about a month and given them about 4 hours a day to get a solid burn-in.   The sound is really opening up and becoming much more clear. Seemed a bit tinny at first, but have smoothed out nicely.
