How do I hook up two active monitors to subwoofer without sound card?

I figured out how to connect my sub, with a headphone splitter and RCA to mini stereo jack, thanks guys!   @brhfl, I upgraded from Audioengine A2, and the difference is significant. The sound of the M-Audio BX8 D2 isn't as warm as that of the A2s, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, I'm...

How do I hook up two active monitors to subwoofer without sound card?

Hello,   I know this is a noob question, but I have only recently started upgrading to serious audio equipment, one component at a time. I recently purchased a pair of M-Audio BX8 D2 monitors, which are connected directly to my PC with a mini stereo jack to dual XLR cable. I would like to...

Best 2.1 speakers for ~$400 USD, upgrading from Audioengine A2

Thanks for all the input on the A5s so far! I am looking to learn more about the Swan M200MKIII and MKIIs and how they compare, if you have experience with them.  Also, for those that posted, I don't listen to much in terms of classical music. I listen to mostly bass heavy electronic dance...

Hello!    I am looking to upgrade my desktop speakers from my Audioengine A2s, and I have a budget of roughly $400 USD. I only have a basic knowledge of audio hardware, so I was hoping you guys could help me out! First off, all the relevant information I can think of:  My current setup is...

Thanks for the info, does anyone have suggestions for more musical subs below $150?

What is it that makes certain subs better for HT and others better for music?

I am looking into buying Dayton Audio's SUB-100 or SUB-120 and have come across plenty of comments saying that they more for home theatre. Is it that big of a difference? If so, what other options do i have in the sub-$150 price range that would be better for music? I plan to be using the sub...

    Powered sub suggestions, budget $100-150

I don't know too much about audio equipment, but I own Audioengine A2s and I'm looking for a musical sub for $100-150. I realize that my options are limited at this budget, but I fully intend to purchase a sub now rather than continue to save. What are some reputable options for me? I am...

Suggestions for 2.1 setup? budget $200 US

Right now, I'm pretty set on buying the A2s and saving for a sub later.   I've crossed off: Logitech z-2300 - muddled bass Swans M10 - no room for tabletop sub M-Audio Studiophile AV40 - too large, no room for them Aego M - availability issues in the US   I have also been looking at...

Suggestions for 2.1 setup? budget $200 US

I have read some comments on some speakers saying that they need to be placed at least x feet apart and x feet away from the listener for them to perform well. I only have enough space to place the speakers about 2 feet apart (on either side of my monitor), if that matters with suggestions at...

Suggestions for 2.1 setup? budget $200 US

Quote: The lack of any explanation or description doesn't help, but I have done a little bit of research on these and it seems that availability in the US, where I live, is limited and may be a problem. However, I'd still like to hear more about these.

Suggestions for 2.1 setup? budget $200 US

How do they compare to a Audioengine A2 + sub setup? I know that would go over budget, but I am willing to buy used.

Suggestions for 2.1 setup? budget $200 US

I don't know much about speakers, so I'm open to suggestions, but please include an explanation of why you're suggesting them along with a description. I'd like something with good range but also some strong, clean bass. I am okay with buying a full 2.1 set or buying the sub separately, as long...

Is there any way to set an equalizer for Firefox?

I just bought a pair of Sony MDR-XB500's, and I'm finding that the bass is a bit overwhelming. I can easily just adjust it through an equalizer in my music player, but is there any way to do that on Firefox? My YouTube videos sound like the treble is muffled.

Good Quality / Stylish Hip-Hop headphones for ~$50

I'm pretty new here, so I can't testify on the sound, but a XB500 is only $49.69 on amazon right now, and I'm sure it'll be a step up from the XB300. I put in my order a couple days ago xD
