    Biggest Disappointment Headphone

Never heard the TH900 but if these are similar to the old D7000s, then yea I can see why they are very polarizing. Loved the D7000s personally after swapping out the earpads, but the extreme V shape is not everyone's cup of tea.

It has 2 earcups and makes sound when plugged into a source.

Fair enough. But you will probably be the first to say Elears are mid-centric with rolled of top end. Elears upper mids are recessed, which makes it a little annoying for female vocals, but a simple eq took care of that. The upper mids continues the recessed nature passes the sibilant region...

    Biggest Disappointment Headphone

I have the HD650 (returning this week) and its probably the most boring head phones I have listened to. If you like a blast of warm at the bottom end with no thump, HD650 is perfect. Even EQing did not help. I wanted to like them due to price but I simply cannot. I wouldn't even pay $100 for...

    Biggest Disappointment Headphone

I think its different signature for different people. i personally think its the best headphone I've tried (which includes the D7000, T1, HD800, HD650s). I wanted a headphone which is somewhere between a D7000 and T1 and so far Elears with a slight eq boost (+4db or so) at 4k is simply perfect...

HD650 and HD800. HD650 saps all energy from dynamic music. HD800's soundstage is very unnatural and also the sibilance is like nails on chalkboard.

Then you might enjoy these and maybe not even bass boost them. Not basshead cans by any means, but without hearing any planars, the bass is the best I've experienced on open headphones.

Depends on your meaning of upgrade. Elears are certainly more engaging. They are not relaxing headphones. The bass makes you want to bop along. Stick to your HD650 if you want relaxing laid back sound. Elears are some of the most excellent headphones I've heard on pop/edm/hiphop music. You might...

Do you know of a good cheap balanced cable to go with the Elears? I'm in the cables don't make a difference camp (assuming the quality isn't terrible) so I'm not really interested in spending over $100 for cables. Thanks!

Got a pair of Elears and still testing and condensing my thoughts. The soundstage is definitely a lot closer together compared to my DT880. Everything is much more in your face. Terrible for gaming though because the positioning is not as good. Love the bass increase and the smoother highs...

How does the soundstage of the elears compared with a DT880 Pro? From what I read, the bass is much more pronounced and the trebles are much smoother compared to the DT880s. If the soundstage is about as wide (used for music and gaming), then I think I've found my perfect replacement. Thank you!

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

I guess I should keep looking then. I actually have a massive head (XL hats to XXL helmets )and found the DT880 puts a little too much pressure on the ears after 2-3 hours. DT1990 is also of interest. Just need to find a place to try them all on. Thank you

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Sorry for the very general question, but how are the LCD-2 compared to the DT880 Pro? I have been using the DT880 for almost a decade now and they were considered my endgame headphones after owning the HD800, D7000, and other misc $300-500 headphones ( for the late 2000s). Now my Amp/DAC...

    Westone UM3X Thread

Wow I just joined this club and wow these are sensitive.... I hear a hiss on my ZuneHD which I did not notice before on my IE7s.   And the hiss from my HP Envy 14 got even louder! Btw Beats audio = totally marketing BS.   Anyways I thought that the sensitivity is about the same as the...

    Review: Swan M200MKIII (UPDATED impressions)

I used the Swans paired with a Keces DA-152 DAC. That and my DT880 600ohms are enough for me to stop my audiophile journey.   Unfortunately I have not heard the A5 to compare and I was coming from a Creative I-Trigue so it was quite a large jump. Great for music, not so much for movies but...
