    HP910

Yes, please tell where you can get these phones for $45! The HP910 is a great headphone, in my opinion. I would consider a second pair at that price. Most comfortable headphone I own.

Grace 901 amp review in Stereophile

I saw the article. That is one sweet DAC/amp. $1500. The reviewer used hd600s. Everybody can check it out at www.gracedesign.com. It is the model 901.

NAD C320 BEE (integrated) better than Creek OBH-11?

Here is a link to the recent thread on the topic that I started: http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...dphone+jack%2A And here is an older interesting link: http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...dphone+jack%2A And this one reports the jack on an average denon receiver being good...

NAD C320 BEE (integrated) better than Creek OBH-11?

HanssoN, This doesn't come as so much of a surprise actually. I recently started a thread to try to find out the quality of various headphone jacks on premps, integrateds, receivers, etc., and found that there are many good headphone jacks out there. In an older thread on the same topic...

    Good headphone jacks on components?

I was wondering if people could list any comments and ratings of the quality of the headphone jacks on their preamps, integrateds, or receivers, hopefully on a scale of 1-10. While many headphone jacks that come 'complementary' on components do suck (take for example, the pathetic sound from...

are ther headphone amps with tone controls?

I recently sold the Corda HA-1 as it lost out to the headphone jack on a B&K PT-3 preamp/tuner. The PT-3 is a full-featured stereo preamp from B&K with full tone controls and an obscene loudness boost that I have enjoyed with etymotic 4s, 4p, Beyer dt931, and now most frequently Grado SR-225s...

    Tuner Recommendations?

I picked up a used Cambridge Audio T500 for $150 and it blows away all the tuners I ever heard before it. I find it to be a very revealing tuner, but it's picky about wanting a strong clean signal. This tuner is the first one I've heard that has enabled me to enjoy listening to the radio with...

    Corda Analoguer?

I'm running it out of the Tape Outs of my B&K PT3 preamp. The source is either a Pioneer PD65 or an MSB Link II processing a DSS signal. IC's are Synergistic something or other, don't recall. When I use the filter, yes you reduce detail I'd say. Without filter, the loss in transparency is...

    Corda Analoguer?

I've had this in my system for a few months now, and I like it. It looks great sitting right on top of my Corda Headamp! Anyway, besides the nice fit, finish, and appearance, it is an intriguing product. It does 2 things: 1) give you an adjustable bass boost, 2) filter some harshness from the...

    Review: Sony MDR-EX70SL (vs 4p)

My bottom line on these Sony plugs: If you find the etymotics to sound thin and lacking bass, these may save you a bundle. They are a lot warmer sounding, with more midrange. They have something of the Sony sound that I've heard in both the 888s and the 1700s. I'd describe this as having a...

    California Bay Area HeadWizer/Head-Fier Meeting

KurtW, sounds good to me! I can't promise my attendance, but if I'm not too busy I'll make the drive down. H

    Sony 888 'mod'

So, I like my 888s, but the friggin' things keep moving around in my ears, sometime's falling out! And I'm just sitting in front of a computer! So I grab those cheap headphones that came with my Panasonic discman, and put those on over the 888s! I almost threw them out last week, but now...

Possibly buying a tuner, have a few questions

Mcbiff, I am essentially in the same situation as you are in. However, I have the Creek OBH-14 passive preamp/DAC box that KurtW mentioned, so I do have a possible solution waiting. However, the Creek really only allows switching between one digital and one analog in. There is both an...

corda crossfeed feature - has anyone tried it?

Crossfeed is extremely well implemented in the Corda, and I always use it. There seems to be no downside to it.

    Senn HD580 or Beyer DT931?

These very different headphones. I'd say the Beyers are more detailed, brighter, have a tighter bass, and probably a more open sound. The Senns have a warmer, more euphonic sound, with more bass I suppose. I prefer the Beyers easily, but I think I'm in the minority here on Headw.. err.. I...
