Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread
Hi cmarti, 1) What clear case is that? I'm assuming this is a 7gen iPod Classic with fat backplate & 2000mah battery? 2) Sound wise, is the 7gen stock or did you do a mod for better sound quality? 3) Also you show the Apple OS firmware, but do you not use the Rockbox on this? 4) Is...- Guyzie

The Astell & Kern AK240
Just out of curiosity... Would the "old school" Denon D2000 with full MarkL mod be a complete mismatch with the AK240? Would it be like trying to wear sneakers to a black tie event?- Guyzie

Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread
On Tarkan's site it says: "Be warned the current crop of mSata drives are power hungary, so runtimes are not great compared to CF/SDXC – but still worth while if you must have a 1Tb iPod!" So I guess that begs the question, which models aren't power hungry and which ones would you...- Guyzie

Fostex Hpp1 sound having no difference to straight from the i pod jack. If there is a difference I couldn't really tell.
Quote: I just picked up my Fostex HP-P1 yesterday, and I'm using an iPhone 3GS with the FLAC Player app paired with SE535s and I was thinking the same thing: there was no difference. That was until I tried changing some settings. What I did instead was made sure to: 1) Turn off...- Guyzie

Portable Amp for iMod 5.5g + Shure SE535 + Denon D2000
Thanks for the quick reply, but since this is an iMod/DIYmod, and it bypasses the amp, I would need to buy an external amp would I not? I was just curious which amp would pair well with both of these headphones! :)- Guyzie

Portable Amp for iMod 5.5g + Shure SE535 + Denon D2000
Hello, I'm planning on getting my iPod Classic 5.5g modded with RWA, because I've never soldered in my life and don't want to mess that up doing a DIYmod (although I wish I could)! I'm interested in knowing which amp I should get that would pair well with both of my stock Shure...- Guyzie

Quote: Quote: In an earlier post someone mentioned the Locale App and also the Locale - Headphone plug-in. Could this be used to MUTE the volume upon powering up and down to avoid the popping sound? I know this is a quick and dirty work around, but if it works, it would be one...- Guyzie

Quote: Quote: That's a real shame, although I can't imagine why a 1.2GHz chip couldn't handle such basic functionality on something like the DX100 (while the ESS9018 is busy doing all the DAC tasks). I wonder why that's so. Something really isn't streamlined properly in there...- Guyzie

Quote: Is it an issue of the CPU being too slow? Or did you mean its not easy and takes too long to search you through your music collection? I hope this isn't a chronic problem with this player.- Guyzie
