MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
I'd recommend the Lake People G103 or G109 if you can get a good price. Be warned though, I started with the G103 and have somehow now ended up with a Vio V200!! (my poor wallet) :)- Guerny

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
I went from amping the dogs using a G103 (1130 mW) to using a V200 (2700 mW), the sound totally improved, the low end in particular. From the G103 i was originally a little underwhelmed with the bass impact, not so with the V200. For comparisons sake your X3ii is putting out only ~200...- Guerny

Does anyone know (have heard) the new anniversary edition G109-A? I ask because i am considering an upgrade... I got to compare my G103 to a V200 last week and was amazed at the difference it made to the sound of my Alpha Dogs (much improved). Would a G103 -> G109 upgrade be a...- Guerny

I realise that it will handle most any signal rate, and will indeed do some nice upsampling using the inbuilt filters, but most DACs usually still have a logical sweet spot in terms of where they best handle processing (a native rate, etc).- Guerny

Anyone know what signal rate this DAC optimally likes to be fed? 44.1/16? 96/24? 192/24?- Guerny

Audinst-HUD-MX2 DAC/Amp
So I got some answers from Audinst directly... - max volume is the level to use for 2V ptp line out level. - the opamps will use 12V power if it is provided, so their advice is to provide 12V if possible as it will be better than using only USB power (5V). Cheers, G- Guerny
