Resonessence Labs Concero discussion/review thead
You’ll won't like this I’ll give you Head-Fi’s textbook answer for your question to your inquiry: Buy the ODAC "BEFORE" selling the Concero... and get rid of the one you don’t like. ;¬) But seriously, maybe auditioning the ODAC in your system and with your ears would be a good way to go...- Francoy

^ yeah I just want to stress that AiDee and I are talking about the Taboo make II (I know wrong thread;). It’s very possible that the difference reported between the headphone out and the speaker taps doesn’t apply to the Taboo make III...- Francoy

Thanks AiDee, much appreciated! (wrong thread indeed! sorry for the slight derail guys;¬) I personally use a 5751 tube in the input stage (supposed to be low gain-ish) and a couple of 7320s (E84L) in the output stage. I just don’t want to rip appart my q-audio cable to verify if I prefer...- Francoy

Interesting, what would you suggest? (very interested in you thoughts on a solution, because I tried to connect my phones directly to the speaker binding post, but it was really loud)- Francoy

Resonessence Labs Concero discussion/review thead
^ Even though mushrooms abound in the great white north, it’s the frostbites that do the trick. When you have to "hibernate" for 6 months, any reason to remain inside (like say, work on DAC circuit implementations) you’re bound to crack the code or something...- Francoy

Shoddy pictures aside, much appreciated review ;¬) As a cannuck, this thing is on my radar... I guess I’ll just start amassing the funds required to spring for the «HD» implementation.- Francoy

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
Quote: There’s a thread for that™ ;¬) www.head-fi.org/t/508721/does-anyone-own-the-wyred4sound-dac-2 (you are probably aware of it, but since your profile doesn’t indicate you’ve participated in it, I thought I’d give you a heads-up) My 2 cents, maybe this ...- Francoy

Regarding EQ... if you hear distortion when EQing the sound by a few dbs, it means your EQ’s not up for it. A correct EQ functions just like any resistor does (which any system has plenty of in the electric path) when applying negative dbs. Yes, recording engineers use EQs. So do radio stations...- Francoy

No the coupon applies when you order. If you cancel your order an re-order at a later date, you might have to barter a bit to get $200 off again.- Francoy

+ 1 on the vintage receiver part. Your dad probably has one gathering dust in his garage, so I would check that out. Their is many a guy who hunt vintage amps and "refurbishes" them on the net (for example this guy www.iavscanada.com) so you can always snoop around.- Francoy
