ath-m50.  Hands down, best deal for around 150.   They've got looks, durability, and most importantly, sound. I find it to be really good even without an amp, but sometimes the highs arent as clear as i want them to be

what is the comparison to the hd 800? is it that big if you dont have an amp?

How much will a cheap amplifier like the Fiio E5 or E11 affect a pair of Sennheiser HD25s? Is the difference that much to actually make me want to carry these around? It's not really the price I'm worried about, it's the portability factor here.

Not only soundstage, but I've heard that the Sennheiser HD line has more of a darker sound and the bass isn't very aggressive.   What about M50's?

IMO the M50's are much more stable-built and they look better than the QC15's without sacrificing sound quality.   The QC 15's are a bit small and their noise cancelling abilities aren't really neccessary for just pure music listening.  I also find the pressure and clamp slightly irritating....

I've been looking into the sennheiser HD 4XX line recently and those seem pretty good, except that I already own several pairs of Senns and I would like to try something different. Are there any suggestions you have?   Thanks in advance

How do these headphones compare to the Sennheiser HD 598?

Personally I'd get the CX 310's because they isolate better and they look less cheap.   The color scheme orientation on the 310s are much better than the 220's also.

IMO the gr07's arent a "wow" headphone.  its just overall really clear and the soundstage is excellent.  However, I do find them a bit boring and may want to sell them
