Non-music options for audiophile source material? High quality ASMR recordings?
Quote: Thanks for your suggestions. Yes rhead, I do listen to some post-rock like God Speed and Explosions in the Sky. Haven't listened to Bass Communion, but that song sounds interesting. But What I am looking for is something with a lot of texture. Here are the two songs that got...- Foldedpencil

Sansa Clip Zip or Clip+ ?
Yeah, thanks guys. With auto update off and load to RAM on, the delay went away. My problem was that I was not restarting it between changing those options so they didn't really go into effect.- Foldedpencil

Sansa Clip Zip or Clip+ ?
Hey, all. Just got a 64GB card for my rockboxed (3.13) Clip Zip. Formatted to FAT32 with 4k clusters (not a quick format) and filled with HQ VBR MP3s. However, now it is markedly less responsive when browsing the database. The card is a Sandisk Ultra card Class 10. I have set it to...- Foldedpencil

Non-music options for audiophile source material? High quality ASMR recordings?
Hey all, I just got a pair of W4R and am really enjoying them. I am into electronic, IDM, and ambient music, but I find myself drawn to content with very interesting sounds and textures since getting the new EIMs. There are especially a couple of Squarepusher songs with effects that...- Foldedpencil

I would like it to be solar powered and include a police scanner. Oh and GPS, so I can tag where my songs have been listened to!- Foldedpencil

Quote: That would be really cool! I really wish there was something like the Nano 6th Gen with expandable storage. Pair that with 2 x 64 GB cards and something like RSA's The Shadow for one slick portable rig.- Foldedpencil

That is a really good idea. I will have to look into if there is a store around me with that kind of stuff.- Foldedpencil

I do have Rockbox, I am using "Simple (Meier)" under crossfeed (as recommended by other head-fi'ers), but I have to admit, I am not really sure what all of those settings do.- Foldedpencil

FiiO E6 - story of the tiny amp continues... (w/ review on 1st page)
I have been playing FLAC files. It just sound so much more distant (especially the vocals) compared to how it sounds when I play them through the computer. The detail is there but something is off that really gets in the way of my enjoyment. Perhaps it is just an EQ issue, but I cannot seem...- Foldedpencil

What is the equation? The Clip Zip output max is 18mW @ 160 Ohms and up to .54 V. The W4Rs have a sensitivity of 118dB @ 1 mW and an impedance of 31 Ohms. I only listen at about half volume, so I think they are getting enough power, but what about control?- Foldedpencil
