< $1200

Have a Woo WA7 on order which will be hooked up to a Macbook Pro (VBR V0).   Top played artists on my iTunes are Alternative/Indie (Mumford & Sons, Lumineers), Electronic (Massive Attack, Portishead), Hip-hop (Talib Kweli, Eminem), Female vocals (Imogen Heap, Sia, Norah Jones)...

I love my HE400, but starting to get the itch for something new.   What would be some options for a worthwhile upgrade that still has that fun sound signature like the HE400?

If you guys haven't run into Lindsey Stirling, the HE400 really shines with her style. The bass drops are much more impressive with a better source of course, but here's one of my fav songs to show off this HP:    

Have a Ray Samuels Predator on the way for the HE400, wondering if anyone has experience with this pairing?

I was actually going to order the headband today via Amazon, so if you want to wait a few days I will report back.

I use the Hifiman travel case and I find it very protective. It's certainly not in the same league as a Pelican case, so may not survive a trip in the bathtub, but the outer shell is actually quite hard.
