Ety ER6 w/foam Tips For The Gym?

I have tried the foam tips with the ER6. I get a good seal with the silicon tips, so I didn't notice any sound improvement. But for those that do have problems getting a good seal the foam tips should solve the problem. I use my ER6 at the gym all the time. Usually while doing cardio on the...

Etymotics ER-6...all they're cracked up to be?

After getting the correct angle and insertion depth figured out I can 9 times out of 10 get a good seal without wetting the flanges. I'm sure everyone is different, but for me the angle is more important than wetting the flanges to get the perfect seal.

    Important question on Etymotics

You might want to consider the ER-6. I went with those because I heard the microphonics was not as bad, and I have found them to be very good for active sports. I take them to the gym weekly and use them while on the treadmill, stepper etc. The sound may not be as good as the ER4's but I am...

Which portable amp with ety er-6

Joe, Thanks for your input. I was thinking that might be the case, but wanted to hear from others that may have tried that combo. I am very happy with the er-6 & my iPod, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something.

Ok, I read all the warnings to leave this forum asap if you desire to keep money in your wallet. Having ignored this warnings I am now looking at getting a portable amp for my er-6, but have a few questions. I primarily use them with an iPod when away from home. Would the er-6 still benefit...

Ety ER6 painful or hard to seal?

Glad to hear that the upward angle trick worked for you AdamP88. I just got back from a trip to Asia. During the 12 hour flight home I put in my ER-6 connected to my iPod so that I could get some good sleep. I was so amazed at the sound that I just layed there blissfully listening to music. I...

Ety ER6 painful or hard to seal?

One thing that has not been mentioned about the ER-6 and getting a proper seal-- "insertion angle." For me this was the key to getting the perfect seal. After trying shallow insertion, deep instertion, moistening the tips, etc. I could not get a good seal that would last. After much...

Etys: The Secret Of The Seal

I totally agree with the angle being the whole key to getting a proper seal with the Etys. I struggled for weeks until I just happened to try a different angle. Now it is quick and painless to get a good seal and great sound. I think Etymotic should add this 45º advice to the insertion...

    Etymotic ER-6 review

Thanks for your review. I use the ER-6 exclusively with my iPod MP3 and have been very pleased with the results. Maybe compared to using them with an amp and high end equipment the sound may not be as good. But I compared about 4 different types of headphones for use on the iPod and the ER-6's...

    ER-6 - can't get the bass

I got the ER-6's for christmas and was very impressed with the clean sound from day one, but I also had trouble maintaining good bass. I could get a seal and hear the potential of the headphones but it would always work loose. So I new I was not achieving a GOOD seal. I kept experimenting...
