Yulong 1704 DAC?
They should have build it into a standard hifi widht case instead of those standard bread boxes. I´ve found it here http://www.audiophilechina.com/cp-show.asp?C_id=173&S_id2=37&s_id=38- Fidelity Castro

New Arcam DAC
dcs sounds like a noname brand, but they produce 80.000$ Units wich beleiving some reviewers are the best the´ve ever heard. How it stacks against the streamlenght stuff will be interesting, i think that Arcam wouldn´t license it if it would be crappy.- Fidelity Castro

New Arcam DAC
The Paul Hynes PSU could be a decent upgrade http://www.paulhynesdesign.com/page7.html They should be even superior than a battery.- Fidelity Castro

New Arcam DAC
I think it´s better to chose your own PSU if the supplied one is a weak link, so you can even run it n Battery without having to heavy modify the unit. Better so than building some rubbish in like others do.- Fidelity Castro

Confused: Vinyl(Analog) vs Digital
It depends on the recording, if you hear mainly stuff fully made on a computer then digital will sound always better, if you hear analog recordings with a top notch vinyl rig then this will sound better. Personally i like the analogue vinyl sound wich is more weightful, blacker, just more real...- Fidelity Castro

Will my system benefit from a "transport"?
Quote: The Transport ( and a dac ) can´t clean anything wich is introduced by the recording, if the recording is jittered that this will remain. The same happens to clock jitter when your onboard pll derives it´s clock signal from the computer > use a soundcard or device with it´s own...- Fidelity Castro

DAC testing, not much difference?
Here is a summary of what i paid for the whole cMP² system : GA31m S2L Board - 30$ Ebay ( i saw it selling for even cheaper ) e7300 cpu - 40$ ebay ( " " ) 512mb crucial dqt9 ( similar to the kingston low latency ) - 10$ Cogage MST 140 cooler ( rebranded Thermalright axp 140 selling...- Fidelity Castro

DAC testing, not much difference?
Quote: I understand your point of view, the whole hifi live would be easier if jitter would be inaudible. From my experience i can tell you it´s not. The big question is, if it´s not the jitter wich counts, what is it then ? Placebo is not Placebo if 2 people hear the same difference...- Fidelity Castro

DAC testing, not much difference?

DAC testing, not much difference?
I use a computer as transport and i´m very happy with it, never would buy a standalone device for music playback again. It just depends on you how good the transport get´s, sources to build a hq pc transport are available, just need to try it out. CMP² is a good start, even if you don´t use cmp...- Fidelity Castro

DAC Suggeston around AUD 1500~2000
Quote: Yes it´s possible and there are Tube vst plugins wich perform really well just adding a nice subtle warmth, for me very useful with lower quality recordings lacking body. This one is free http://kunz.corrupt.ch/?Products:VST_TAL-Tube Another one wich i like is this...- Fidelity Castro

New Arcam DAC
It would be interesting to know if they licensed the asynchronous protocol from gordon rankin and wavelenght ( wich is what ayre did ) or if they have developed a m2tech similar solution by themself. Supposed to be a big seller it could be possible that Arcam brings this wavelenght technology...- Fidelity Castro
