New here lookin for some advice
I tried looking on the Amazon US site but they don't have any of those open box discounts. I would say that it would probably be worth it to wait and save for the 650s, I've never personally used them but they're one of the most well regarded headphones on the market, you really can't go wrong...- FederalTurtles

Would you say that the 650s are the logical step up from the 880s? I'm already compiling a list for my next purchase. Sorry to hijack the thread haha.- FederalTurtles

That deal that wolfetan mentioned is the best price I've seen. The MSRP on them is $500 I think but it seems like it's pretty easy to find them for cheaper.- FederalTurtles

The only places I know where you can try headphones are Guitar Center and Fry's Electronics. I don't like either of them but they seem to be the only places in my area unless you go to a small music or audio store.- FederalTurtles

Beyer DT 880s. Absolutely love them but I could do with a teeny bit more lows, I'm still waiting for enough burn in though. They absolutely destroy my old M50s :dt880smile:- FederalTurtles

New here lookin for some advice
The 650s are $500 and open back so I'd say they're out of the running. My suggestion would be the Beyerdynamic DT 770. It's closed back and well-regarded here for being detailed and clear. It's also really easy to find them under $200.- FederalTurtles

What's your price range? Do you prefer open or closed back, or no preference? What kind of music do you listen to? Do you prefer more neutral or bassy? I agree with the 650s, but they can be a bit pricey.- FederalTurtles

Line-out vs pre-out
Hey everyone, I recently bought a FiiO E09K amplifier. My chain goes like this Creative SB X-Fi Titanium HD -> FiiO E09K -> Headphones/speakers. I have a pair of Audioengine A2 active speakers that are connected to the amp currently through the line-out jack, however there is also a pre-out...- FederalTurtles

Quote: Yeah, it's hard to listen to them now since I got these. They're still good for games and movies, but not music.- FederalTurtles
