The Astell & Kern AK120
Taking audionewbie advice, I bought a like-new Sony MDR EX-1000 on Ebay and have been listening the last 2 hours. It is awesome... Beat my Shure SE535 in dynamic, soundstage and impact. Very close to the AKG K3003i overall. I got a steal for $300...- expatinvietnam

Just received my Sony MDR EX-1000 and listening for the last 2 hours on AK120. I must say that it sounds sweet and better than my Shure SE535 and same dynamic, soundstage and impact as the AKG K3003i on loan from a friend. However, the AKG K3003i is the winner in the high treble and clarity...- expatinvietnam

Today, a friend loan me the AKG K3003 IEM to try with my AK120. WOW, I love it... Now I cannot go back to my Shure SE535. The sound is clear, dynamic and huge soundstage. The build is high-quality, and very easy to wear. The only two nit-picking is the cable cannot be change...- expatinvietnam

One feature, that I did not expect to have but find it really nice and useful is the Bluetooth. I normally use Bluetooth on my Sony Xperia Z with Plantronic 901 BT headset for exercise and choir around the house. Today, I tested the Bluetooth on AK120 and it pairs with my Plantronic...- expatinvietnam

I just checked all the songs and all formats loaded on the AK120 and it retains the 24 bit /96kHZ. When I use XLD, I ensure that I have options not upsampling/down sampling.... I played some songs and it all showed 24 bit /96kHZ. As I was doing this checking. I have the AK120...- expatinvietnam

Glad to report that the AK120 -> Schitt Lyr -> LCD-2 Rev2 is Awesome... I turn the volume Max on AK120 and Lyr at 11-12 hour and the LCD-2 is plenty loud. Cannot go any higher.
