The ATH-CKS1000..
@Dsnuts, is there any similarities between CKS1000 and ES700 ? From your posts I sensed there is.- dtomo

The NEW ATH-ES700..
I had an hour audition on ES700 at Jaben yesterday. I can confirm what Dsnuts says about this excellent piece. Energetic yet smooth. Bass response is good for a small cup portable. Female vocal has an added fullness to it as opposed to CKM500. WS55 pads look just what ES700 needed, a slightly...- dtomo

JVC HA-FXZ 100/200
Happy New Years everyone !! Dang I spent 2013 reading 40+ pages of this thread just because an opportunity came up on purchasing these IEMs. I ignored this thread after first 30 pages or so after i found out Tenso does not ship to Indonesia. I'd rather sleep well at nights than continue...- dtomo

The JVC HA-S500 thread.
Okay, I did the pads change and tape the ports. I picked AKG pads. Mids and treble became more prominent but bass was missing even taped. Went back to stock pad and bass is back and overall sounded warmer than AKG pads. I like it though. This phone still impress me now and then. AKG pads did not...- dtomo

The ATH-CKS1000..
Yes, I can. CKM with fuller bass and better (balanced) mids and cleaner highs is what I want for my next ATH incarnation. Presentation like FXD80 would not hurt either. Now i have FXZs on sight but CKS1000 would always make me wonder.- dtomo

how good are the meelectronics a161 ?
OTOH, these IEM grew on me. For me this sound better (soundstage and dynamic) amped than direct from Ipod. My guess is, these like source with lower output impedance.- dtomo

The ATH-CKS1000..
Quote: Beautiful lookin IEM those ATH. If I had not read your review of FXZs I might fallin for these as I like CKM500 so much (thanks to you). Maybe JVCs will push ATH into developing dual dynamic IEMs in the future and send samples to you Mr Nuts. Great review, thanks for your effort.- dtomo

The discovery thread!
@dsnuts , would XB90 benefit any improvement using bigger bore tips just like XBA3? OK, I see your point regarding XBA3 and MDR R1. I have no interest on XBA3 as a starting point anyway so I would not have chance to experience it's quality. I'm waiting for FXZ100 impressions.- dtomo

The discovery thread!
Dsnuts, I've demoed MDR R1 and I like it a lot but XBA 3 I just could not stand it. XBA3 mids and highs felt weird to me. I dont see their signature are similar at all. Speaking of kpop, here is two my favourite korean singers : Lyn - Memories Park Ji Yoon - Faded Memories- dtomo

IEM's for electronic/house music under $100
I have A161 which I use a lot lately but I dont think it suits OP's genre. A161 bass would be lacking in amount for EDM. I personally use XB90EX and CKM500 , I'd say both are suitable for EDM with XB90EX has more bass body and treble, which is a bit peaky for my taste. I don't have Yamaha...- dtomo
