Cayin N5ii Android based Master Quality Digital Audio Player

Thanks, Imbrie! I've now sent a mail off to AMP3. I think I am just within the 1 year since purchase (not sure if that is the cutoff, but it's typically one or two years, I think), so fingers crossed.

Cayin N5ii Android based Master Quality Digital Audio Player

Left channel on my N5mk2 has stopped working. I have tested other devices, phones, etc., plus s/w, so I know it is a hardware issue; seems to be the 3.5mm output jack. Sure I read somewhere on this thread that others have had similar issues. Pretty gutted, cos I love the sound, and the firmware...

    Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers

I find the Amperex usn cep 6922s (mid 60s) are great for bass - deep, warm and plenty of punch. Add in to that, lots of detail and you got yourself a very nice tube.

Lyr gives you the added bonus of tube rolling. Unfortunately, it gives the added cash burden of being skint for about 6 months, as you scour eBay for everything you have read about in the tube rolling threads.

    Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers

I had the exact same problem. I guess it is just the sockets. I now use socket savers and have perfected the art of rolling in and out, so the savers stay in and the tubes come out. But it takes time. :-)

I was in a similar position re: Valhalla vs Lyr (plus others, such as Woo, Bottlehead, etc.). I opted for a Lyr for a) ubiquity, b) tube rolling options, c) possible ortho choice down the road and d) resale price, in case I wasn't happy. Oh, and I am totally electronics-blind, so Bottlehead was...
