Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread

I did try Shure Olives, but really didn't like the amount if force required to install and remove them. They did not give me any audible benefits. I keep coming back to Shure grey "soft flex" tips as my favorites, and recall that joker often prefers them on IEMs that they fit...

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread

I have both JVC FXT90 and Fischer DBA-02 MkI (same as the B2). The FXT90 are much bassier, and don't have the startlingly clear treble of the DBA/B2. The JVC's do have a nice clarity, and are much more of a "mainstream" sound quality. But my old ears prefer the DBA balance, especially with...

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread

Only 6-7 months and they're done? My DBA-02's were going strong for about two years of heavy use until the cable stiffened up enough to crack the insulation. I sent them to BTG Audio who replaced the cables with Westone-type jacks, and I added a Westone EPIC MIC cable, unfortunately no longer...

    Fischer Audio DBA-02 Tips

I use Shure "grey soft flex tips" (they are single flange )on my DBA-02's. I'm still on the first pair after about two years of heavy use. The same size you use in the OEM tips will work for the Shure tips. I've also used some large dual flange, also Shure I believe, but prefer the single...

    Recablng DBA-02 mki

BTG Audio did a fantastic job recabling my DBA-02's, with a Westone-type socket instead of hard-wired cable. I love 'em with the Westone EPICS cable (includes mic and single button remote)! Price was quite reasonable, and turn-around time was excellent. Brian has done several sets of DBA-02 Mk I...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Sorry, I'm apparently one of the few who have never heard the GR07. It certainly has plenty of fans around Head-fi.

    JVC HA-FXT90 Thread

I have good luck with MEElec short double flange tips from the M11+ set, which are quite reasonably priced.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Dagraham, I've been using DBA-02's (Mk I version) for about three years straight out of iPod, iPad and Blackberry, and they are still fabulous. Micrphonics have never been an issue with them, with or without using a cable clinch. I did have BTG Audio add Westone-type sockets to my second pair...

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread

The single flange silicon tips from Fischer and Shure fit identically, and my recollection is that the sound did not change, but I switched to the Shure tips so long ago! Big difference is that the Shure tips are quite secure on the nozzles, unlike the Fischer OEM tips. I tried Shure olives...

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread

I've been using Shure "grey soft flex" silicon tips on my DBA-02's for the last 2+ years (same pair!). Pretty sure those were also the tips that Joker recommended in his review. They can be found less expensively at "Earplug Superstore". Use the same size as what worked for you in the OEM...

    Recommended tips for DBA-02

The first tip listed (easfx1-10) will be the correct tip for DBA-02's. Models that fit the Shure E2 earphones (the other, fx2 version) are used on a wider nozzle. Excellent tip for DBA's! Last forever - still on my first set after more then two years - good seal, and very secure on the nozzles.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

I used an M9P cable for recabling some DBA-02's. I was surprised how quickly the MEElec cable stiffened (over ear) compared to the stock Fischer cable.

    JVC HA-FXT90 Thread

I like the short dual flange tips that come in the MEElec M11+ tip kit. That kit includes them in three sizes, and I prefer their fit and security in my ear over the JVC stock large single flanges. I also feel that they keep the bass in better balance with the rest of the spectrum.

VSonic GR99 vs. Astrotec AM-90 vs. Xears XE200PRO

Of these three, my only experience is with the AM-90, which were very nice for the price, with all the music in my eclectic collection. Don't have them anymore since they were always intended as a gift for my daughter. What does joker say about these three, and what are your sound signature...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

I've used RadioShack hybrids, but find I prefer the short biflanges that are included in the MEElec M11+ tip kit in three sizes, or also available (more expensively) as Sennheiser CX300 tips from Amazon. BTW, I get a deeper, more secure fit with these and plenty of isolation, but they also keep...
