Agreed. If you had a wide soundstage it is going to lose a lot of the qualities that make this headphone great. But this is one reason why we all have multiple headphones. :)

  That's what I did.  I would make sure they're a reputable seller (significant amount of feedback, basically all positive).  Realistically, I know warranty service is a toss up.  They usually state they will handle the 1 year warranty, but will they?  Who knows.

Just some advice: don't buy from sellers that have only a few sales on their record (only 5 ratings, 1 of which stated they sold them a subpar lens after which they refused to work with them).  Amazon will shut them down but they don't really care.  Paying a few more $s to avoid drama is worth...

There's definitely demand for that as well.  I'm a huge basshead but I still want high end headphones - in fact, I bought 2 sets.  Based on what I see on head-fi, the IE80s sold very well.
