  • About

    Gender:
    Male
    Occupation:
Singer/composer/producer/engineer. Owner/Founder of Avidon Audio Labs.
    Interests:
HiFi of all sorts, anime/manga/Japanese culture, Linux, new Jazz scene, pool, craft food/drink.
Baseball (particularly the art of pitching), Football (for the sheer tactical brilliance of it), Tennis (my primary sport), Martial Arts (I practice Krav Maga). I'm a pretty hardcore otaku, wrote my thesis on Japanese Superflat and Neopop movements, craft brewing/distilling, local, sustainable farming and hydroponic technologies (I live in Bushwick after all...), a wide variety of artistic forms, especially sculpture/architectural installation, theater and film (outside of music that is). Billiards. RPGs (of the video game variety, not into the whole death and destruction thing so much...). Essentially if I'm not working, I'm either at a jazz club, a pool hall or a symposium or I'm at home playing video games or watching anime/documentaries/indie film/the occasional episode of Battlestar Galactica. I like House and Fringe too...

    Cable Inventory:
Frost Audio is no more - Avidon Audio Labs is my production company now, but I focus mostly on recording engineering. I do have a few cool designs (mostly for the pro audio world) in the pipeline, but for now I largely use Gepco cable - DS401m or X-band double braid for balanced, VPM2000 or X-band instrument for unbalanced. If you need no-hype, broadcast grade cables ever, drop me a PM and I'll build some for you. Certainly got plenty of raw wire :)

    Music Preferences:
Primarily modern Jazz/Jazz Fusion, some electronic (trip-hop, dubstep, D&B, Chemical Breaks, Psytrance, Goa, EBM, etc), classic rock, some indie-electro/alternative. If it's compelling I'll listen to it, I just don't like derivative, repetitive, overproduced shallow drivel. So no Lady Gaga or Katy Perry for me thank you very much. Some of my favorite artists include, in no particular order:

    Yoko Kanno
    David Bowie
    Brad Mehldau
    Taylor Eigsti
    Pink Floyd
    Hot Chip
    Steely Dan
    The Crystal Method
    The Chemical Brothers
    Benny Goodman
    Aaron Goldberg
    Chromeo
    Neon Neon
    Daft Punk
    Gnarls Barkley
    Benjamin Rosenblum
    Roy Assaf
    Weather Outpost 12
    Midnight's Exile
    Infected Mushroom
    Maria Schneider
    Gear-Fi:
Watches, Pool Cues, high end bourbon/beer? Does that count? Front Projectors, computers (Linux nerd...). But mostly I work on the ALSA architecture. So that hardly counts as non-audio huh...
I do music and audio in every way I can!
