Upgrading My Audio Equipment?
I don't use my speakers so much because I share the house with others and don't often have a chance to use them at a volume I'd like. I mainly use them for gaming. Are the Razer Mako considered trash on this forum? Or are you simply saying I can get much better without breaking the bank?- deadman_uk

Upgrading My Audio Equipment?
My speakers I rarely use for music, I mainly use headphones for music. I am happy with my R70X headphones but if upgrading them would give a big difference, perhaps that is something I will do in the future. However, making this thread, I think I will keep things as they are for now. I was...- deadman_uk

Upgrading My Audio Equipment?
The Darkvoice 336SE OTL tube headphone amplifier; I heard I should avoid tube amps for my specific headphones as it can ruin the sound by making it too warm. Any truth on this? I remember reading on this forum about a guy who tried a tube amp on the R70X and said the neutral sound of the...- deadman_uk

Upgrading My Audio Equipment?
I do a mixture of gaming and music listening on my desktop computer, with the occasional movie thrown in. I mainly use headphones but the speakers do get some use occasionally. Both headphones and speakers are plugged into my amp. I am using the following for audio: Headphones = Audio–Technica...- deadman_uk

Portable Amp (& DAC ?) for Audio Technica ATH-R70X Headphoines & Smartphone
I think I decided on the Aune B1 (2016 version). Where can I purchase this from the UK? I can't find anywhere and the one on Amazon UK I think is the 2015 version. I will get a C5 if I can't find a B1 for sale.- deadman_uk

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
The A700 doesn't have a 6.3mm plug, it has a 3.55mm plug. I used the adapter that came with the R70X and put it on the A700. The A700 sound fine when not plugged into the amp. Not a big deal, maybe it just doesn't like the amp.- deadman_uk

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
I borrowed some cables from a friend now I got my amp hooked up. It sounds nice and a certain upgrade from my A700s. Gaming sounds better too with this amp and a little extra bass in the Creative software. When I plug my A700s into the amp though, they sound horrible, as if some parts of the...- deadman_uk

Portable Amp (& DAC ?) for Audio Technica ATH-R70X Headphoines & Smartphone
Hi, I recently purchased the Audio Technica ATH-R70X headphones with a Magni 2 Uber AMP (DAC is my Titanium HD sound card) for desktop use. I would like to buy a portable amp and possible built in DAC for use with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. I don't know if it would be worth it to buy...- deadman_uk

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
I have an EQ on the Creative software that came with my sound card. The amp arrived today (Magni 2 Uber) but unfortunately I am still waiting for the RCA cables!! So frustrating that I have all the equipment except some cables. I accidently ordered from an Amazon UK marketplace seller who is...- deadman_uk

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
I heard the headphones have a few flaws that can be improved by altering an EQ. My sound card has software to alter the EQ. I read and saved a post that said "3dB more emphasis from 20-100 Hz to beef up the low end" I have a 31Hz and 62Hz on my EQ but i'm not sure if I should be increasing or...- deadman_uk

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
I read these headphones are comfortable, is that not the case? New pads by Brainwavz give more sub-bass but does it negatively affect other parts?- deadman_uk

Wouldn't different pads change how the headphones sound? Why would you want to do that?- deadman_uk
