Looking to replace Cute Beyond amp to power DT880 250 ohms

Thanks for the suggestions. I've heard good things about the Magni 3+. Would I need a dedicated power supply for it? I still have the power supply I used for the Cute Beyond (pictured), would it be of any use or even compatible with the Magni 3 ?

Looking to replace Cute Beyond amp to power DT880 250 ohms

Hi! My Cute Beyond headphone amp has apparently died from overheating, so I would need to replace it with a headphone amp (no DAC) able to power DT880s 250 ohms. Price is the primary factor: it would have to be in the ~100 € price range. I'm OK with buying it used. Thank you.

Best foldable headphones for under 140 € ?

I've read mixed opinions about their sound and they don't look too well built, but since you mention them I'll give them a listen nonetheless. These are the ones I'm replacing! I don't want them ever again; they broke twice in less than a year! And their sound wasn't really satisfying; they...

Best foldable headphones for under 140 € ?

I like them; they're compact and have a decent sound, but I'm ready to pay a bit more for headphones with a better sound if they exist in a similar form factor.

Best foldable headphones for under 140 € ?

Hi, I'm bumping this thread because I'm still looking for headphones matching these requirements. The headphones you suggested above seem a bit too large to use while commuting.

Best foldable headphones for under 140 € ?

Hello, I'm looking for portable, foldable headphones with the best possible sound in the 70-140 € price range. By "best possible sound" I mean that they should sound as detailed as possible, fairly neutral and versatile, but not 100% analytical; they should be fun nonetheless. They should be...

At what length do balanced cables become necessary?

This document is difficult to understand for me because I'm a total stranger to the theory of signals and electric currents. What it seems to say is that plugging a balanced cable to two "balanced" ends doesn't guarantee that the signal will be noise-free. This document was first written in 1985...

At what length do balanced cables become necessary?

I don't have the laptop yet. I'll probably buy a Samsung Series 9 or something similar. The music will be stored on the laptop's hard drive, most of it in MP3 format at a high enough bitrate for the compression to be transparent, the rest of it in FLAC. I'm using foobar2000 for music and VLC for...

At what length do balanced cables become necessary?

But would this be resolved by using balanced cables?

At what length do balanced cables become necessary?

The purpose would be to play music that is stored on my laptop's hard drive on the hifi system in my living room. The laptop will be in one part of the room, the amp in another, that's why I'll need to run up to 10 meters of cable between them. The amp will have other components plugged to it...

At what length do balanced cables become necessary?

I have none of it yet. I'll need a DAC for the laptop, a stereo amp and some good speakers.

At what length do balanced cables become necessary?

Thanks jaddie. You said signal degradation should be minimal at 10 meters of cable length, but will the signal gather noise at that length? In the end, which route should I take: balanced or unbalanced?

At what length do balanced cables become necessary?

Hello, I'd like to buy a stereo amp and feed it with audio from a DAC (plugged to a laptop). The amp will probably be in the same room as the laptop, but not right near it. I assume the cable length I'll need will be of about 7 to 10 meters. Is it too long for a regular unbalanced cable, and...

    DT880 - An old favorite:)

Hi,   Is there a way to check of what impedance a pair of DT-880 is? I've bought mine and just want to make sure they're the 250ohm version. Thanks.
