I would want to settle for these and save some money because I got a good deal for them. Brick&Mortar Retail stores sell the HD558 for more than 170€, Online retailers sell it for 150€ and I got a 130€ special!   The 598's are 1.42x the price so are you saying they're worth my money...

I have enough money to buy an HD 800 if I would so wish, I also listened to the HD 700 for a small while today but I'm not going to invest thousands in audio equipment to get the best sound available.   I'm getting the HD 558 (normal price 150€) for 130€, the HD 598 costs 185€, a 55€...

The Asus Xonar DG is a small sound card with a "half-decent amplifier" according to a head-fi'er here (Asus says it can run headphones up to 150 Ohms) and it also has some gaming specific extras like dolby surround and can produce better sound than what I have currently in my PC.   I've read...

I've read about it and yeah, I think I might love them. :)   But would I get the most out of them with the Asus Xonar DG or is there a reason I should get the Asus Xonar STX instead? I've read they're easy headphones to run without a big amplifier.

The AKG Q701 is available for 299€ and there is only one retailer selling it.   The HD 558 is 149€ and the HD 598 is 185€ so this is probably just a bad price on those I guess?   I'm looking around most retailers for any suggestions you post here. :)
