Looking to retire my noble ATH M50s (Budget: ~$200)
I'm definitely digging the HP100s! Not only are the specs appealing, but they are absolutely gorgeous cans. How necessary do you think it would be to get an amp? Most of the stuff I'm reading is saying that can be driven pretty easily, but it takes an amp to make them truly shine.- copperdusk

Looking to retire my noble ATH M50s (Budget: ~$200)
Hey all, So I've had my M50s for about 5 years now and they've always treated me all. Unfortunately, they suffered a terrible accident at the hands of my roommate, and after a failed attempt to revive them I've determined that I should just let them die with honor. Goodnight sweet prince...- copperdusk

Replacing an old friend.
After quite a while of daily cheerful service, my Panasonic RP-HTX7's are on the verge of dying. Whenever I wiggle the cable even a little, the sound changes and I lose most of the frequencies. With that being said, I felt it necessary to come back to the forums after some time away and...- copperdusk

Picking out a phonostage?
Rcenetly I've been trying quite hard to get into vinyl, but with a limited budget it's hard to get quality euipment. Last night a stumbled onto somebody selling a Technics 1200 that I could actually afford. Now I'm curious what phonostage would go nicely with it? I've never dealt with...- copperdusk

How do amp specs correlate to headphone specs?
I'm curious because I've started to get a grasp of what the different specs on headphones actually mean. Now I'm a bit confused on how to figure out if an amp will be able to drive a certain pair. I think an example should be in order. In said example I'll be using my Peachtree Audio Nove as...- copperdusk

I decided that I would look into the Yamaha further. The owner says he's going to check it out to make sure everything is working properly. I'm just curious if there's anything I should keep an eye out for, when I go to pick it up?- copperdusk

Entering the wonderful world of vinyl.
Erik you're a freaking genious! Why is it that I never think to look on craiglist for things like this? Anywho, I found 3 used turntables that seem acceptable for the situation. A Yamaha YP B2: Yamaha YP-B2 Turntable An unknown JVC model: JVC turntable w/ needle And a Technics...- copperdusk

That Technics looks pretty nice, but it's a little over my porjected budget. I was thinking if I ended up going for something more expensive I'd be interested in the Pro-Ject Debut iii. Although Pbalcer did make the idea of upgrading sound very appealing. I'm not quite sure what most of...- copperdusk

Entering the wonderful world of vinyl.
Whilst building my stereo I've had a vinyl epiphany. Currently all I have is a Peachtree Audio Nova and a pair of Boston Accoustic E70s, but I feel I need a most excellent turn table to go along with it all. Since the Nova has to phono in I've been looking at phono stages and the Bellari VP130...- copperdusk

Taking a step up.
From the further research I've done it doesn't look like I'll have too much trouble driving any 'phones(but then again I could be completely wrong. What a silly newb I am.). As for my taste, I'm not quite sure what to say(Silly newb again!). To my knowledge there aren't any audio stores in...- copperdusk
