It depends on the size and shape of head, the bumps don't annoy me unless i'm wearing them for more than 2 albums worth of time.

They are just completely different sounding, get both & be doubly happy

I have the HD650 too, some people use them on sound cards & ipods, but I have found like many they sound best when you give them a proper amping, but that costs money.

I think your right, the human ear can be better than any measuring equipment, but I think it can also be led by the brain, thinking of differences that arnt actually there, your brain can be a powerful thing, are you really hearing a difference or thinking you are.
